What Is ACT Score Needed For Scholarship At Mississippi State?

Beginning Fall 2023, the test scores for Freshmen at MSU are based on a Superscore.

The school offers general scholarships to entering freshmen based on:

  • 3.0 grade-point average (overall GPA submitted on the official high school transcript or core GPA calculated by MSU on a 4.0 scale from 9-11 grades)
  • Official ACT/SAT scores submitted directly to MSU
  • The general scholarship application submission is required for competitive, leadership and service, and private scholarship consideration.

Only National or State Test Date ACT/SAT scores will be considered in determining scholarship awards. Your senior year’s February ACT/SAT is the last ACT/SAT to be considered for scholarship purposes. The written portion of the ACT or SAT is not considered for awarding scholarships.

The Scholarship is awarded based on the student’s academics, leadership abilities in school activities or through work experiences and a strong commitment to involvement in the community.

In order to be eligible for this scholarship, students are not required to subscribe to Comcast cable or internet services. Notification will be sent to all scholarship recipients by the end of February. The recipients will receive the award at home by the end of June.

Foot Locker Scholar Athletes Program

This scholarship program is awarded by Foot Locker Foundation, Inc. 20 awards are offered on an annual basis.

The distribution of the award amount will be in four equal, annual installments. For demonstrating superior educational achievement, outstanding leadership, and a true love of the game, one scholarship winner will be selected to receive the Ken C. Hicks Scholarship.  This winner will be in receipt of an additional $5,000 award, which will make for a total of $25,000.

The Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi (CFNM) in Hernando manages 233 donor-established funds, including the Byron Keith Mallett Jr. Memorial Scholarship. This $1,000 annual award in remembrance of the 13-year-old Christian boy who was tragically killed by an accidental shooting.
