University of Tennessee Scholarship

Students who want to study at the University of Tennessee often wonder which scholarships are available to fund their studies. As a first step, all students are asked to complete the FAFSA form as soon as possible. This form helps students determine whether they qualify for federal or state funding.

In addition to the FAFSA, UT has several school-specific awards each year to students of different academic levels.

Some of these UT scholarships are only open to new students, while others are only available to continue students already enrolled in the university.

See the list below for the University of Tennessee scholarships:

Voluntary Scholarship:

This scholarship was created to honor an incoming freshmen student who holds at least a 3.8 grade point average and who has been engaged in volunteer work. Students are eligible to extend this price if they are enrolled full time and have achieved an average of 3.0 during their academic career.

The actual amount of compensation depends on two factors, namely the student’s residence status, and test results. Students who are out-of-state residents who hold a 34-36 on the ACT exam can receive up to $18,000 per year.

Students from Tennessee who score in the same range can receive $8,000. Lower amounts of funding are available to students with lower ACT or SAT scores.

Additional information about this scholarship can be found here.

Continuing Undergraduate Scholarships:

Students already enrolled in UT and considering scholarships can apply through this funding mechanism. It is important to note that students are likely to complete this application each year as their financial situation may change from year to year.

To begin, students must complete the application for a scholarship during the open cycle. The form will be open between 3 January and 1 February. In addition to completing this form, students should contact their academic department if other forms are needed.

More information about these awards can be found here.

Chancellor’s Scholarships:

Students wishing to apply for these scholarships must apply for admission to UT before November 1st. A separate application form will be e-mailed to students offered admission to UT.

To qualify for this scholarship, students must submit additional information by the deadline of 15 December. This scholarship is only available to students attending UT for the first time.

All of these scholarships are based solely on academic achievements and therefore require a weighted average of 4.0 and a score of at least 31 ACTs. The value of the scholarships is $ 7,000 per student.

More information about these awards can be found on this website.
