The responsibilities of the fellow include:

Build, manage and develop a network of social entrepreneurs who will modify the systems of the region by building the network of Ashoka designers, recording new networks and building new networks, and regularly examining different thematic areas through questions of internal learning, local/national/ global crises and interest groups.
Managing the selection process and logistics of Ashoka Fellows in the region in close coordination with national, regional, and global teams;
Preparation and approval of clients for the system change in the Ashoka Fellows selection process. These include in-depth interviews and field visits with social entrepreneurs and individuals who are close to innovation, synthesizing and documenting outcomes, and creating an Ashoka Fellow profile for each Fellow Candidate.

Coordinate trans-African initiatives as needed to align with Ashoka Africa’s strategy

Identify and communicate the trends, models, and ideas that emerge from the annual selection process for Fellows and newly elected members in the region by creating a knowledge infrastructure and reporting.
