The Atlas corporation fellowship is a 12-18 month fellowship in the United States for the world’s largest social change leaders.
Fellows work full time in host organizations to develop leadership skills and learn effective practices through the Atlas Corps Global Leadership Development Professional Series and opportunities to establish contacts with other colleagues.

The Atlas Corporation organizes a fellowship program aimed to nurture next-generation leaders who can address these challenges provide innovative solutions to transfer smoothly into the future. Each year, Atlas Corps offers a fully-funded Fellowship program that invites fellows for an in-resident program in the USA.
The fully-funded opportunities offered for social leaders covers the following:

How Much is the Atlas Corps Fellowship 2023?

To be able to apply for the Atlas Corps fellowship 2023 requirements you must meet the following requirements:
- Two or more years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- English proficiency (oral, writing, reading)
- Age 35 or younger
- Apply to serve in a country other than where you are from (U.S. citizens are not eligible for the U.S. Fellowship)
- Commitment to return to your home country after the 12-18 month Fellowship
- Commitment to living on a basic stipend that only covers food, shared housing, and local transportation

How To Apply For The Atlas Corps Fellowship 2023
Time needed: 35 minutes
Atlas Corps considers applications on a rolling basis, though they encourage you to apply as soon as possible to be considered for Host Organization placements. The application is a multi-step process. Its Fellow Classes start four times a year: January, April, July, and October.
- Application & Selection board review
Applicants are required to register for an account and save their login information through their online application system so that they can return to the application at any time.
The application includes a brief eligibility test to determine if applicants meet the basic requirements of the Fellowship.
Once applicants pass that initial eligibility test, they will be asked to give information on their passport, travel/visa history, language skills, employment history, professional skills, and social issue areas. They will also be asked to complete three short essay questions.
The application also requires additional attachments:
A. An official transcript or diploma from previously attended universities.
B. Two Recommendations:
Applicants must submit contact information for at least two recommenders who know them professionally. Applicants will need to send their requests directly through the application system.
Their recommenders will receive an email that asks for a recommendation. More detailed instructions can be found in the online application form.
Applicants may submit the online application before uploading their transcript/diploma, and the recommenders complete their forms.
However, applicants cannot proceed to the later steps of the selection process until the entire application is complete. At that stage, the Atlas Corps Selection Board will review applications to determine whether to select strong applicants to move on to the interview stage.

Atlas Corps selects top applicants who have the potential to match potential Host Organization placements for an interview via Skype with the Atlas Corps Selection Board.
- Host Organization Review (by invitation only)
When you apply for the Atlas Corps Fellowship, you’re not applying for a specific Host Organization or start date. You are applying for the opportunity to be considered by Atlas Corps and potential Host Organizations for placements starting throughout the year.
Applicants that pass the interview stage will be designated Semi-Finalist, which means they are eligible to be reviewed by potential Host Organizations for placements based on their interests and skillset and the organization’s needs.
Please note that they review applicants based not just on eligibility and quality of their applications but also on how well they fit with the desired profiles their potential Host Organizations are looking for at any given time so that some applicants may advance more quickly through the process than others.
In some cases, strong applicants may be selected for the Fellowship in as little as 3-4 months after they submit their application. Strong applicants may be considered for multiple classes, potentially longer than a year, before matching with a Host Organization placement. - Host Organization Interview (by invitation only)
Host Organizations invite Semi-Finalists that best match their positions to conduct Skype video interviews with them before moving on to the Finalist stage. The Host Organization may ask for additional information from the Finalists, such as sample assignments.
- Selection and Visa Process
Host Organizations will make their final recommendations to Atlas Corps, and Atlas Corps will notify the selected applicants. After being selected, Fellows will go to the U.S. Embassy in their respective countries to apply for a J-1 visa. Atlas Corps will provide support in obtaining this visa.
Semi-Finalists not selected by a Host Organization will be notified. They may be allowed to keep their application on file for consideration for the next class of the Fellowship.
Atlas Corps will continually reassess Semi-Finalists to determine if they are still in consideration for future Fellowship placements.
Semi-Finalists MUST update their availability through their account every 2-4 months to remain in consideration for the Fellowship and to be eligible to have their application sent to prospective Hosts. Semi-Finalists will periodically receive a reminder email to do so
Atlas Corps Timeline
Atlas Corps receives hundreds of applications every month. Each of the above steps can take between 1 and 3 months. The exploration may take several months. They prioritize the applications that may be most relevant to the locations of our host organization. Applicants will progress at different speeds.
They also recommend submitting your request to begin the review process as soon as possible. You can submit your application anytime, so don’t wait for the deadlines. If you are accepted into a scholarship, there may be a quickTime to switch between your admission and the beginning of the scholarship.
Final decisions about each class of colleagues are made 6 to 8 weeks before class begins. The scholarship start dates are not flexible, and assuming your visa is approved, you must start your scholarship with the chapter in which you were accepted.

You can apply to become a Fellow if you meet the following minimum requirements:

Atlas Corps is dedicated to providing rising nonprofit leaders with opportunities to obtain additional skills those leaders will require to have an even greater impact. Atlas Corps does not want to take highly experienced senior-level directors away from the important work they are doing and does not want to recruit students to participate in this program since they may not have enough relevant experience to share with organizations.
The Atlas Corps Fellowship is designed for mission-driven individuals seeking social change. Competitive applicants will have 2-10 years of experience, and most tend to be in the nonprofit/NGO sector. However, the Atlas Corps Fellowship also includes individual in business, technology, media, government, and other sectors. Those who are not in the nonprofit/NGO sector have should provide examples of how they have integrated their desire for social change into their career. For example, a candidate in the business sector may be using information and communication technology to achieve social missions, bringing entrepreneurship programs to marginalized communities, or doing volunteer work.
U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents are NOT eligible for the U.S. Fellowship. Currently, we are not accepting applications for Fellowships outside the U.S.
We accept applications year-round. We have certain priority deadlines to be considered for certain Fellowship start dates. We encourage applicants to apply early and not wait until the deadline so that they can be considered for the next step of the selection process as soon as possible. 3. Give specific details and examples when you’re describing your skills and interests. If you say you manage volunteers, how many volunteers do you manage? If you work in fundraising, how much money have you raised or how many successful grant applications have you worked on?

How the fellowship beneficiaries are selected
Applicants apply not to a specific Host Organization but rather for the opportunity to be placed at one of our partner organizations. Matching Semi-Finalists with Host Organizations is a multi-step process.
Once we receive a position description from a Host Organization, we send them the profiles of several candidates that could be a good match.
They then pick candidates to interview and may assign tasks such as a writing sample, portfolio, or an assignment, after which they may pick a candidate for the Fellowship, or choose not to host a Fellow at that time.
Atlas Corps receives approximately 10,000 applications each year, and to give each candidate a thorough review, it may take up to a few months for our team to complete each stage of the review process.
We review candidates based not just on eligibility and quality of their applications, but also how well they fit with the desired profiles our potential Host Organizations are looking for at any given time, so some candidates may advance more quickly through the process than others.
The U.S. Fellowship begins every three months. In 2022, Fellowships will start in January, April, July, and October. Each Fellowship begins with a one-week orientation program.
