About Cincinnati Country Day School

According to Wikipedia, Cincinnati Country Day School (CCDS) is a private, coeducational, Independent School in Indian Hill, Ohio which is a suburb of Cincinnati. It was established in 1926 by Harold Washburn. The preparatory school serves students from 18 months to grade 12.

The School emphasizes educational excellence, character development, extracurricular involvement, and integrated technology. They discover talents, serve others, and live with integrity. 

In CCDS, students in 5th grade and above were equipped with laptop computers as part of the “Anytime Anywhere Learning” program. The school is an international leader in technology integration utilizing tablet computers on a wireless campus.

In the same vein, students in 5th grade receive their own web-page on the school server. Furthermore, students in Cincinnati Country Day School learn with enthusiasm.

What Is Cincinnati Country Day School (CCDS) Admission Process Like?

The admission process at Cincinnati Country Day School is more detailed when compared with other schools in Ohio.

  • Submit an application
  • Schedule an evaluation (for applicants 18 months through grade 2)
  • Register for admission testing (for applicants grades 3 through 12)
  • Then you will receive admission notification from the Admission Office
  • Confirm enrollment

Note: The school will begin the process of evaluating the admission application once your admission application is received, the application fee is paid or waived, and they receive your complete set of records and recommendations.

International Student Application Process

International students wishing to study at Country Day for a single year must first contact the Admission Office to determine the availability of space. Priority is given to applicants intending to study at Country Day for three years or more.

Students entering grades 8 – 12 and wish to study at Country Day on an F-1 visa must follow the processes outlined below.

  • Submit an Application for Admission.
  • Submit the I-20 Preliminary Information Form.
  • Also, submit all required recommendations and complete the transcript
  • Take the Test of English as a foreign language (TOEFL) and submit scores. 
  • Take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) or the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) and submit scores.
  • Contact the Admission Office to schedule a visit to campus or interview by Skype. All visitors must have an application complete with TOEFL and ISEE scores for the Skype interview or class shadowing to be arranged.

NOTE: Our expectations of an international applicant’s TOEFL results are 550/213*/79** or higher scores. Cincinnati Country Day School TOEFL code: B939 The test is either a Paper/Computer-based exam an Internet-based score (iBT).

The Triumphant Scholarship was created through the generosity of a Cincinnati Country Day School graduate to provide one to two full-tuition scholarships each year to the academically talented student(s).

#2. Merit Scholarship

This scholarships are merit-based awards granted to the top applicants entering grades 3 through 12. The awards are designed to recognize those students whose academic standards and strength of character embody Country Day’s mission.

Founders Scholarship awards for grades 3 through 8 range in value from $2,000-$12,500 per year. Awards for grades 9 through 12 range from $2,000-$17,500 per year.
