The Eric and Charmaine Mabuza Scholarship is awarded to students who wish to become professionals within the IT or Commerce sector.

The scholarship will cover tuition fees, study materials, accommodation, and meals or an allowance if the accommodation does not include meals.

After graduation, students might have to be actively involved in Scholarship Foundation alumni planned activities, attend scholarship Foundation events and contribute to the community by carrying on the mission and vision of the Foundation.

  • Not be above the age of 35
  • Be studying or have plans of studying towards a qualification within the IT or Commerce sector

#2 TISO FOUNDATION BURSARY SOUTH AFRICA

The Tiso Foundation bursary program is awarded to students within all fields of studies offered at Universities or Universities of Technology).

Although, the fields of study listed below will be given preference:

#6 SOUTH AFRICAN RESERVE BANK BURSARIES

The South African Reserve Bank Bursary scheme was created in a bid to combat the shortage of skills challenge in the country.

The bursary is offered to students from a disadvantaged background who want to study in any of the following fields:

  • Economics
  • Information Technology
  • Finance
  • Actuarial Sciences
  • Mathematical Statistics
  • Law and Accounting

The scheme covers one-off payment for books, accommodation (university accommodation only) and tuition fees, which will be paid to the student.

It will be reviewed every academic year based on the recipient’s results.

All bursary holders are to submit their school results before the 31st of December each year.

After completion of studies, recipients will work for SARB for a time equivalent to the bursary duration, else a full payment of the bursary made to SARB.

#7 THE PAUL MTHIMUNYE BURSARY FUND SOUTH AFRICA

The Paul Mthimunye Bursary Fund support financially strained and high academic performing high school and tertiary students within the Steve Tshwete Local Municipality (in Mpumalanga).

The Bursary Fund receives support from community members, the private sector, the Mpumalanga Provincial Education Department and the Steve Tshwete Local Municipality.

#8 ANGLO PLATINUM BURSARIES

The Anglo Platinum bursary scheme is awarded to high performing students in any of the mining industry-related or relevant fields.

The scheme provides recipients with the opportunity to train their skills and also apply it to real-life scenarios.

This bursary scheme covers the financial needs of recipients including medical and computer allowances.

The Imfundo Trust, an Old Mutual Investment Group (OMIG) scholarship initiative was created to increase the availability of black qualified professionals in the asset management industry in South Africa

#10 INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (IDC) BURSARIES

IDC offers a bursary program to qualified students with good academic standing but is in financial need to continue higher education.

The bursaries are awarded to those studying in any of the following fields:

  • Engineering (BSc Industrial, Chemical, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Mining, Metallurgy, Civil, Analytical Chemistry and Geology)
  • Applied Commercial Sciences (Bcom Accountancy CA, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Investment Management, Agriculture and Environmental Science).

The bursary program covers accommodation, feeding allowance, tuition and registration fees, bi-annual books and stationery allowances and expenses.

Bursaries are renewed each year depending on student’s academic performance.

After graduation, recipients could be required to work for IDC for a duration equivalent to the bursary funding.

#12 SCHAUENBURG EDUCATION TRUST BURSARIES

Created to contribute to the socio-economic development of South Africa, the Schauenburg Education Trust financially assists qualified students who wish to complete studies in the fields identified as scarce or rare skills in order to make those skills more readily available.

Bursaries are awarded according to merit, financial need and will cover the 100% of the prescribed university tuition fees, registration fees and exam fees, an amount equal to the average rate for accommodation at a university hostel to which the student is studying, three meals a day, textbooks and course material as well as living allowances.

The bursary program is not available to students already in other bursary program and can be withdrawn if the holder does not meet requirements.

#20 STANDARD BANK LEARNERSHIP 2022

A 155-year-old financial establishment and the largest African banking group, Standard Bank Group has operations in about 20 countries spread across the African continent.

The Standard Bank Learnership program helps unemployed South African matriculants and graduates gain employment experience in the financial services industry.

It is a 12-month program that provides professional exposure to recipients giving them the opportunity to function in different roles within its branches and offices throughout South Africa.

Recipients will sign a 12-month fixed-term employment and learnership contract. And also receive a learner allowance of R2 500 a month for the duration of their program.

Candidates will receive an accredited National Certificate in Banking (NQF level 4) after the successful completion of the program.
