About Esports Scholarships 2023

Esports is growing at an incredible rate at about 41.3% year-over-year, according to a Newzoo report. That growth is transforming the space into a $1.5 billion market by 2023, says Newzoo’s Peter Warman, when about 300 million people will be watching eSports. That’s up from $362 million in 2017.

With growth rates for eSports so high, likely, professional gaming will eventually overtake some or all of the major professional sports leagues. And that’s probably why colleges and universities are getting into the act.

According to a source from Esports, there are about 81 member institutions in NACE (National Association of Collegiate eSports) and all but two offer institution scholarships. 6 other varsity institutions also give scholarships.

Some of the institutions that offer or are intending to offer the eSports scholarship include:

ROBERT MORRIS UNIVERSITY | Esports Scholarship 2023

The scholarships are for players of League of Legends, and players will compete in Riot’s North American Collegiate Championship. Qualified gamers can earn up to 50% tuition and 50% room and board.
