Each year, EWSETA makes available bursaries through their EWSETA Bursary South Africa for students pursuing their studies in Energy and Water-related fields, to assist them in achieving their dreams.

About EWSETA

The Energy and Water Sector Education and Training Authority (EWSETA), one of the 21 SETAs in South Africa, is a skills development authority who are responsible for serving the energy and water sectors.

EWSETA has the responsibility for the management of skills development in the National Skills Development Strategy III framework. Even the EWSETA’s key focus areas comprise electricity services; petrol; energy and renewable energy.

The EWSETA Bursary South Africa is available for undergraduates students who are pursuing a degree in any of the fields of energy and water-related in any accredited South African University.

Scholarship Benefits

The EWSETA Bursary South Africa will offer a benefit that covers the tuition fees to a quantity of R35 000 each year.

Eligibility for Scholarship

Applicants should meet the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please notice that failure to meet each of the prerequisites will probably result in an application not being considered):

  • must be a South African citizen
  • Applicant must be currently studying or accepted to study at a recognized South African tertiary institution, in the Energy and Water-related field
  • Preference will be given to students from previously disadvantaged communities, female students, as well as students with disabilities

Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your completed application form (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application be disregarded):

  • ID document (certified copy)
  • Matric certificate or equivalent (certified copy)
  • First-time tertiary applicants: proof of university registration
  • Current tertiary students: full academic record to date
