The African MBA Scholarship is a full fees scholarship for full-time MBA applicants only and part funded by a private donor with a commitment to Africa and part by the University. The scholarship is be allocated on the basis of financial need, academic excellence, relevant experience, and evidence of a commitment to the economic development of Africa.
About University of Birmingham
The University of Birmingham is a public research university located in Edgbaston, Birmingham, United Kingdom.
It received its royal charter in 1900 as a successor to Queen’s College, Birmingham (founded in 1828 as the Birmingham School of Medicine and Surgery) and Mason Science College (established in 1875 by Sir Josiah Mason), making it the first English civic or ‘red brick’ university to receive its own royal charter.
Birmingham has departments covering a wide range of subjects. On 1 August 2008, the university’s system was restructured into five ‘colleges’, which are composed of numerous ‘schools including Arts, Engineering, Medical and many more.

The African MBA Scholarship is a full fees scholarship (£31.500 for 2022/23 entry), part funded by a private donor with a commitment to Africa and part by the University.
Requirements for University of Birmingham Masters Scholarship Qualification
- The scholarship holder will be in financial need as determined by the University.
- The scholarship holder will be from the continent of Africa.
- Scholarships apply to one-year, full-time MBA programmes only.
- The scholarship will be allocated on the basis of academic excellence, relevant experience and evidence of a commitment to the economic development of Africa.
Interview date, Process and Venue for University of Birmingham Masters Scholarship
Assessment will be made based on a candidate’s MBA application, CV, and Personal Statement. Candidates must state which scholarship they wish to be considered for in their application/Personal Statement.
MBA scholarships are allocated on a case-by-case basis to outstanding applicants. A rolling assessment process will be in place throughout the application cycle.
