Application for Google Developer Student Club Solution Challenge 2022 is ongoing!

Created by the United Nations in 2015, with support from all 193 United Nations Member States, the 17 Sustainable Development Goals aim to end poverty, ensure prosperity, and protect the planet.

Google Developer Student Club Solution Challenge- Eligibility

To be eligible to enter the Contest, you must be:

  • (1) a student above the age of majority in the country, state, province, or jurisdiction of residence (or at least twenty years old in Taiwan) at the time of entry;
  • (2) not a resident of Brazil, Quebec, Crimea, Cuba, Iran, Syria, or North Korea or;
  • (3) not a person or entity under U.S. export controls or sanctions;
  • (4) be a part of a Google Developer Student Club community (the team submitting an entry must also have at least one person that is part of a Google Developer Student Club (GDSC) in their own university or college),
  • (5) have access to the Internet as of January 11, 2022. Contest is void in Brazil, Quebec, Crimea, Cuba, Iran, Syria, North Korea, and were prohibited by law.

Employees, interns, contractors, and official office-holders of Google, UNICEF, the United Nations, and their parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, and their respective directors, officers, employees, advertising and promotion agencies, representatives, and agents (“Contest Entities”), and members of the Contest Entities and their immediate families (parents, siblings, children, spouses, and life partners of each, regardless of where they live) and members of the households (whether related or not) of such employees, officers and directors are ineligible to participate in this Contest.

Google reserves the right to verify eligibility and to adjudicate any dispute at any time.

If you are entering as part of a company or on behalf of your employer, these rules are binding on you, individually, and/or your employer. If you are acting within the scope of your employment, as an employee, contractor, or agent of another party, you warrant that such party has full knowledge of your actions and has consented thereto, including your potential receipt of a prize.

You further warrant that your actions do not violate your employer’s or company’s policies and procedures.

The mission of the 2022 Solution Challenge is to solve one or more of the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals using Google technology.

The Solution Challenge is open to members of Google Developer Student Clubs. Join a Google Developer Student Club (GDSC) on the GDSC community page.

Google Developer Student Club Solution Challenge- Value

Top 50 teams

Win a T-shirt, certificate, and mentorship from Googlers and other experts to improve and submit a solution for the top prize.

Top 10 finalists

Win a $1,000 cash prize per team member, swag, certificate, mentorship from Google, and a feature in the Google Developers Blog and Demo Day livestream.

Top 3 winners

Win a $3,000 cash prize per team member, swag, certificate, mentorship from Google, and a feature in the Google Developers Blog and Demo Day livestream.

Application Deadline

The deadline for entry submission for this award is March 31, 2022.

In early May, we will announce the global top 50 teams (based on our evaluation criteria) who will receive mentoring with Googlers and other technology experts for a chance to be the Solution Challenge finalists.
