How to apply For Orange Knowledge Programme

Step 1: check if you are eligible

Before you apply, make sure you review the eligibility criteria carefully and check whether your employer is willing to nominate you for the scholarship. When you meet the criteria, you can start making the necessary preparations for your application.

Step 2: apply for admission to the IHE Delft MSc programme in Water and Sustainable Development or the joint MSc programme in Limnology and Wetland Management.

You will need to have academic admission for an eligible MSc programme at IHE Delft before you can apply for a scholarship. Please check the programmes and admission criteria and submit your online application for admission.

IHE Delft aims to notify you about the outcome of your application within three weeks. If your application is accepted by IHE Delft you will be notified via email.

Submit your application for admission by 15 March 2022 at the latest. In the meantime, start to prepare the documents that need to be submitted to OKP (see below).

Step 3: apply for OKP through Delta

You can apply for a scholarship through Delta, the online application tool for OKP scholarships, during the scholarship application period. Only submit an application after you have received your admission letter of IHE Delft. Delta is open between 2 February and 22 March 2022

Please take note of the following:

  • You first need to have academically acceptance to one of the two IHE Delft eligible MSc programmes (see Step 1)
  • For most countries sufficient English test will be required. Please check if this is required for your country. If required, register to do this test as soon as possible as it may take time and test results should be submitted before the OKP application deadline.
  • If you are applying for the joint MSc programme in Limnology and Wetland Management, please note that a copy of your Boku admission letter needs to be submitted with your online application for admission with IHE before the OKP application deadline. You can already submit your OKP application in Delta if you have a conditional admission, but for final nomination for and OKP scholarship for LWM an unconditional admission is required. On the OKP registration form you have to tick that you are a co-finance candidate. As the LWM programme lasts longer than a year, IHE will search for the additional 6 months of funding. Do NOT tick full scholarship candidate. Otherwise your application will not be eligible.
  • If you are applying for the MSc programme in Water and Sustainable Development, you have to tick that you are a full scholarship candidate at this question on the OKP application form.
  • It will not be necessary to upload an admission letter in Delta, but a valid passport copy will be required. Another ID is not accepted.
  • You will need to prepare and collect all the necessary documents in advance, this may take some time.
  • Incomplete applications in Delta will not be accepted, so please pay utmost attention to the documents you will need to prepare.
  • It is important that you discuss the relevance of the study programme you wish to follow for you and for your employer beforehand. In your employer statement you have to provide information on this relevance and this is an important selection criterion.

The following documents may be required for OKP application:

  • Employer statement: the employer of the scholarship applicant supports the scholarship application through a positive reference, declares that it will continue to pay the salary of the scholarship recipient during the programme and after his/her return will give the scholarship recipient an opportunity to apply what he/she has learned in practice. Your employer has to complete this employer statement, which you need to upload with your application.

The exact start and end date as mentioned in your admission letter will need to be mentioned:

  • -for the MSc programme in Water and Sustainable Development, mention: Start: 31 October 2022 – End: 13 October 2023
  • -for the Joint MSc programme in Limnology and Wetland Management, mention: Start: 26 October 2022 – End: 14 June 2024
