Brief History of the Ford Driving Dreams Scholarship 2023

The Ford Driving Dreams Scholarship Program is intended to assist and encourage high school seniors from the North Texas, Houston, and San Antonio areas to pursue a degree at U.S. post-secondary institutions.

Applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent.

Students must have scored 20 or higher on the ACT or 1050 or higher on the SAT and plan to enroll full-time in an accredited college or university.

The Ford Driving Dreams Scholarship Program is available to qualifying students from the following schools in North Texas and school districts in Houston and San Antonio:

The Ford Driving Dreams Scholarship Program awards $2,000 in scholarships to qualified high school seniors.

Scholarship Requirements

To be eligible for the Ford Driving Dreams Scholarship 2023, you need to meet up with the requirements listed below:

  • The Scholarship Program is available to qualifying students from selected school districts.
  • Must be a high school senior graduating in the spring of 2023.
  • Consistent, active participation in public and community service activities.
  • Preference will be given to students pursuing STEM fields, but students interested in other areas are eligible to apply.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Full-time enrollment in a U.S. Department of Education accredited community college or four-year university during the period for which scholarships are requested.
  • Students must verify their 2023 academic school year enrollment before scholarship disbursement.

Completed online application, including submission of the following: 

  • High school transcript, including cumulative GPA
  • SAT/ACT score report
  • “What Drives Your Dream?” essay (500-word limit)
  • One letter of recommendation, including a complete telephone number and email address for reference.
