Gani Fawehinmi Undergraduate Scholarship is an annual scholarship scheme in the name of the Prestigious Chief Abdul-Ganiyu “Gani” Oyesola Fawehinmi. It is one of the ongoing scholarships organized by the Gani Fawehinmi Scholarship Board and for the Nigerian undergraduates

Gani Fawehinmi was a Nigerian author, well-respected publisher, philanthropist, social critic, seasoned human and a civil rights lawyer, politician and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

Indigent students from public universities in Nigeria will send in their application to the offices located in the different states around Nigeria.

Level/ Field of Study

This scholarship is for Nigeria students pursuing their undergraduate studies in any of the tertiary institutions in Nigeria. 

Host Nationality

The Scholarship is hosted in Nigeria and taken in Nigerian higher institutions including Universities, Polytechnics, and College of Education.

Eligible Nationality

The Scholarship is designed for Nigerian  Students specifically for Applicants who have exceptional leadership and show great academic background.

Scholarship Benefits

The award is for 20 (twenty) students, each of whom will receive One hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000) making a total sum of Two Million Naira (N2,000,000.00).

Requirements for Award of Gani Fawehinmi Scholarship Award | Criteria for Award

(1) Applicants must be poor and indigent.

(2) Applicants must be registered students of tertiary institutions in Nigeria i.e U universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.

(3) Applicants must have good academic performance

How to apply for Gani Fawehinmi scholarship | Application Procedures for Gani Fawehinmi Scholarship

(A) Each applicant shall submit an application letter, not more than two (2) pages.

The letter must include the name of the candidate, course and year of study, state of origin and why the candidate believes that he or she should be given the award.

(B) The application letter must be accompanied by:

(i)A photocopy of the candidates’ current identity card

(ii) A letter from the candidates’ current head of department, including correct information on the candidates’ CGPA for the last academic session.

(iii) A letter from the registrar certifying that the candidate is a student of the institution.

(iv) A copy of the candidates’ registration form for the current semester, and

(v) Two current passport photographs

• Successful candidates will be awarded the Scholarship on September 13, 2020, at Nigerian Law Publications House, Otunba Jobi Fele- Way, C.B.D., Alausa Ikeja, Lagos at 12.00 Noon.

Application Deadline

The previous deadline for this scholarship was on 18th of August. However, the scholarship is CURRENTLY NOT ONGOING.
