Admission Requirements
As a parent or guardian, the first step to Admission into Guilford County Schools begins with creating a Schoolmint account for your child or ward.
Parents who already have a Schoolmint account for their children can log into their account to continue registration or add other children later.
You can register for or log into your Schoolmint account to continue your registration.

One of the registration requirements for Guilford County Schools is that all intending students must be living with either a parent or a guardian legally appointed by a court. The guardian must also be a resident of Guilford County.
For parents who are registering their children for the first time, the following documents will be required in Schoolmint or will be submitted at the school’s registration office (for any grade level including kindergarten).
- Certified copy of the child’s certificate of birth
- Immunization records of child or ward
- North Carolina Health Assessment Transmittal Form for Students enrolling from outside North Carolina, from a private school or charter school that does not have an NC Transmittal Form in their file and are enrolling into Guilford County Schools for the first time.
- According to NC General Statutes, the parent or legally appointed guardian of the child will complete an Affidavit of Students in Good Standing for fresh candidates coming from other schools outside Guilford County. The recommendation does not apply to students that are coming from another school within Guilford County or students who have never been enrolled in a private or public school (ex. - Medical cards and voter’s registration cards bearing the name of the parent(s) or the legal guardian of the child.
- A state-issued ID card from the Department of Motor Vehicles or a Driver’s License and one of the following documents:
- Voters card issued by the Board of Election Office bearing the name of the parent(s) or legal guardian of the child.
- A medical card bearing the name of the parent(s) or legal guardian of the child.
- Car registration documents in the parent(s) or legal guardian of the child.
- Address verification letter from an employer showing the current address and details of the parent(s) or legal guardian of the child.
Note that, for a child moving from other schools, Guilford County Schools at its discretion will request for the child’s academic/performance record from the former school.
Non-Routine Enrolment
Non-routine enrolment includes the following instances:
- Students living with persons who are neither their parents nor legal guardians.
- Students living with one parent outside of Guilford County and wishes to attend school in the attendance zone of the other parent within Guilford County.
- Student living with parents/legal guardian living outside of Guilford County but wishes to enroll in Guilford County.
- Students living with a homeless parent/legal guardian without a proper address of residency.
- Student 18+ that are financially independent.

Kindergarten Enrolment
Guilford County Schools Encourage families to enroll their children in Kindergarten classes in spring. For those who wish to register their child for kindergarten classes, the following documents are required:
- A certified certificate of birth
- A Health Transmittal Form
- School assignment of the child (you can contact the Student Assignment office via 336-370-8303 or use GC School Assignment Locator to find it).
- Child’s record of immunization (shots) obtained from a certified pediatrician or the health department of Guilford County. Information should include the record of the following shots:
- Diphtheria, Tetanus, acellular Pertussis (DTap). Five doses are required.
- If the fourth dose comes after the child’s fourth birthday, there will be no need for a fifth dose.
- Evidence of IPV or OPV (Inactivated Polio Vaccine or Oral Polio Vaccine).
- Four doses are required. The fourth dose (booster dose) is requisite on or after the child’s fourth birthday and before first school enrolment.
- One dose of Mumps vaccine after the child’s first birthday.
- A dose of Rubella after the first birthday of the child.
- One dose of Haemophilus Influenza Vaccine (Hib).
- Three doses of Hepatitis B Vaccine. Compulsory for all children born on or after the first of July, 1994.
- Two doses of Varicella were administered at least 28 days apart. The vaccine is necessary for children born on or after the first of April 2001. The second dose must also be administered before the child’s first school enrolment.

Tuition Fees for Guilford County Schools
Guilford County Schools utilizes a secure K12 Payment Centre system for payment of all fees. Parents can now make payments conveniently from anywhere. Online payment also supports credit and debit card payments.
Parents can also make ACES payments, field trip payments, yearbooks payments, lost book payments, and meal payments using the K12 Payment Centre.
Parents that already use the K12 Payment Centre to make meal payments for their child can also use their current login details to pay for tuition fees and ACES. School Meals
Parents can deposit funds into their child’s cafeteria account. The child can use the funds to purchase food items, lunch, or breakfast. Parents can access their children’s purchasing history and set low-notification options for their children’s accounts.

Scholarships
