General Henry Hap Arnold Scholarship Worth

Generally, recipients of the Henry Hap Arnold grants get a scholarship worth ranging from $500 to $4,000 annually.

Eligibility for Henry Hap Arnold Scholarship

To be eligible for the Henry Hap Scholarship application, an applicant must meet one of the three criteria below:

  1. Be a dependent daughter or son of Air Force associates in a few of these categories:
  • Active-duty, Title 10 AGR/Reserve on extended active duty, and Title 32 AGR performing full-time busy responsibility. All members must remain on active duty throughout December 1 of the year (other Guard and Reserve aren’t entitled ).
  • Retired due to a period of active duty service or handicap, or retired AGR/Reserve using 20+ decent service years creditable for retired pay (others aren’t eligible).
  • Deceased while on active duty or in retired status

2. Eligible spouses must be married to manhood (perhaps not divided or impending divorce) at the time of application and disbursement of the award.

3. Surviving spouses of Air Force members that died while on active duty or in retired status.

Also, eligible applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • A senior high school graduate will soon be registered or enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student in the 2023 academic calendar year.
  • Is going to be registered or enrolled in an accredited college, university, or vocational/trade faculty approved by the U.S. Department of Education for participation in national aid programs.
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Henry Hap Arnold Scholarship Application Procedures

To apply, applicants should visit https://education.afas.org/GrantApplications/OnlineApplication and also, follow the procedures below:

  1. The student must answer eligibility questions and register as a user on the Air Force Aid Society’s Education Grant Portal.
  2. Students and sponsoring members/other parents complete the online application for the Gen. Henry H. Arnold Education Grant Program.
  3. All applicants must submit the following:
  • Front and back copies of the student’s military ID card
  • Copy of sponsoring member’s qualifying documentation, with all but the last four of SSN blacked out, as follows:
  • Active Duty – attach a copy of assignment orders presenting obligation station. Title 10 AGR/Reserve attached a replica of extended active duty orders revealing active status through December 1.
  • Title 32 AGR – include orders/contracts showing the performance of full-time busy active duty through December 1.
  • Retired -attach a copy of retirement orders. (DD Form 214 Record of Service accepted with basis behind separation recorded as retirement) Retired AGR/Reserve unite retirement requests (DD Form 214); notice of eligibility for retired pay at age 60 or retired cover sequence revealing retired with the cover on a 60th birthday or after.
  • Deceased -attach a copy of AF Form 1613 Statement of Service sort; or State Death Certificate with a backup of most current military requests.
  • Copy of the most recent transcript (unofficial ones are also acceptable). 
  • Copy of full Student Aid Report (SAR) from the 2023 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Note: Confirmation or acknowledgment pages for submitting the FAFSA are not acceptable.
  • Students applying as a 5th-year undergraduate must verify enrollment in a 5-year degree program (5th year required for all degree programs/majors).

4.  Submit the application and all required documentation to the Air Force Aid Society’s Education Assistance Department.
