- Select View Profile from the menu.
- Before you activate “open to work” go to your profile and tap Edit.
- Because this feature is enabled, it will appear at the top of your profile when you access it.
- The open-to-work feature has now been disabled.
- From the next pop-up, select DELETE.
- SAVE should be selected.
- At the bottom of the Edit page, select Delete from your profile.

Check either “share with recruiters only” or “share with all LinkedIn members” to communicate your open-to-work status. To get started, click the “Add New Profile Section” button to the right of your profile photo, then select “Looking for a New Job” from the Intro section at the top.
“All LinkedIn members,” which encircles your profile image with a green #OpenToWork badge that can be seen by anybody. “Recruiters only,” which will only show those outside of your present company who use LinkedIn Recruiter that you’re looking for a new job.
You can also use the Career interests feature to set up preferences for your job search. Scroll down until you locate Your Dashboard in your profile, then select Career interests. This allows you to keep choices for the job you want, such as location, firm size, and industry.

It’s not ideal that LinkedIn provides a generic open-to-work post. It’s impersonal and intended to be a jumping-off place, but it’s missing some key details. You can produce a targeted public post that is significantly more effective whether you’re open to work for everyone or just recruiters.
