ISL STUDENT ADMISSION  APPLICATION PROCESS

To apply for student admission to ISL, please click on the online admissions application link which will take you to the online admissions portal where you can register and start the online application process. The application can be completed in stages but, following the initial registration, you will need to upload the following information or documents for your child to the online admissions system in order to complete the process:

Medical form and vaccination records
Copy of birth certificate or passport
Passport size photo
Child’s grade reports from previous school
Copy of parent’s work/residence permit

If your child is already attending a school, you will also need to download the relevant forms from the online admissions system to give to the child’s present school:

Counselor information sheet
Primary teacher recommendation form
Secondary Mathematics recommendation form
Secondary English recommendation form

It is essential that you provide all the necessary information on the online application form and have also told us any concerns you may have about your child. Children whose chronological age does not match their educational performance require very careful placement, and we only offer places to children who are developmentally appropriate for our age-related programmes.

Following payment of the registration fee, an assessment for admission and class placement purposes will be made, which will enable the school to decide upon the most appropriate instructional level/subject selection for your child’s success here at ISL. Once it is established that the school has a programme that can meet the applicant’s learning needs and providing that there is a vacancy in the appropriate year level, the school will offer your child a place.

HOST NATIONALITY:

TYPES OF SCHOLARSHIPS

ISL awards 2 half-scholarships each year to students entering the 2 year IGCSE courses (Years 10-11) and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (Years 12-13). Each scholarship is for 2 years tutition.

The allocation of scholarship funds is balanced between awards to incoming students and awards to students already on campus. Consequently, there are two types of scholars for each programme, Internal Scholarships may be awarded to current ISL students while External Scholarships may be awarded to a non-ISL student.

The half-scholarship covers half of the annual tuition fees and the provision of a graphical display calculator. For external scholarships only, the cost of one annual curriculum-related, residential field trip within Zambia is also paid.

Scholarship awards should serve two equally valuable purposes, recognition of overall merit and achievement and provision of financial support where needed.

For incoming students, scholarship applicants are evaluated in a competitive context. For current ISL students, scholarships recognize concrete achievements during a student’s career study at school.
