Criteria for Becoming a Knight Hennessy Scholar

If you only remember one thing in this admission section, remember this: to be selected as a Knight-Hennessy Scholar, you must apply separately for the Stanford Diploma Program you wish to pursue in addition to the Knight-Hennessy Scholarship Program.

What You Need to Know About Knight Hennessy Scholars Program

Level/Field of Study

Scholarships are available to pursue a Graduate (Ph.D.) degree program in arts, education, engineering, humanities, or social sciences to professional degrees in business, law, or medicine.

Specifically, Knight-Hennessy Scholars receive total funding to pursue graduate study at Stanford. This includes the JD, MA, MBA, MD, MFA, MS, DMA, and Ph.D. programs and joint- and dual degrees.

The scholarship is for all nationalities (International students). They encourage applications to Knight-Hennessy Scholars from citizens of all countries.

Scholarship Worth

The full full scholarship includes tuition, stipend, graduate program, and related academic expenses, with additional financial support available.

Number of Scholarships: Up to 100 scholarships are available.

The Knight-Hennessy Scholars program typically does not cover costs that your home department at Stanford pays for its students – such as subscriptions or lab equipment.

Who Is Eligible for Knight Hennessy Scholars Program

The following criteria must be met for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship:

Are you a potential Knight-Hennessy Scholar at Stanford University? Below is a list of the general requirements.

• They encourage applications to the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program from citizens of all countries. That’s natural since we expect Knight-Hennessy Scholars to have a global impact.
• They expect that over time about one-third of their Scholars will be from the United States. And about two-thirds will be from countries outside the United States. Those numbers will fluctuate yearly, since our goal is to admit the world’s very best students, regardless of location.

All Graduate Programs at Stanford; Only for Graduate Degrees

You are eligible to apply to the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program if you are using to enroll in a full-time graduate degree program at Stanford. For example, but not limited to, JD, MA, MBA, MD, MS, or Ph.D. Or if you plan on pursuing one of Stanford’s many joints- and dual-graduate degree options. The Stanford education of Knight-Hennessy Scholars is fully funded. The Knight-Hennessy Scholars program funds your graduate education your graduate education up to the first three years. Please note, however, that they will prioritize applicants who will spend at least two years at Stanford. Specifically, they do not believe one year is sufficient to build community and develop leadership.

First/Bachelor’s Degree Received in 2013 or Later; Enrolling in 2023 or Later

You can apply for the Knight-Hennessy scholarships if you are applying for your last year of studies for your first/bachelor’s’s degree or within five years after obtaining your first/bachelor’s’s degree.

Also, for the cohort that applied in 2019, you must have graduated from January 2014 to September 2020 to enroll at Stanford in September 2023.

For US military (active or veteran) candidates, you are eligible if you have completed your bachelor’s degree (first grade or license). ) diploma in 2012 or later.

Other Eligibility Requirements

Beyond the eligibility requirements listed above, you are eligible for the Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program as long as you meet the d graduate program(s) that yorequirementssh to pursue.

In most cases, you are eligible for a graduate program, even if you have not studied this specific area at the undergraduate level; Contact each graduate program to get detailed information about your requirements.

You must complete your Knight-Hennessy Scholars scholarship application and the entire application process for your graduate program, including the standardized tests required by your graduate program (GMAT, GRE, LSAT, MCAT, etc.) and, if needed, a proficiency test in English (TOEFL or, only for MBA programs, IELTS).

While we expect Knight-Hennessy Scholars to have performed well, there is no minimum requirement for your grades or scores.

A Special Note for Graduate Students Enrolling at Stanford Before 2023

Are you enrolled,, or plan to register as a Stanford graduate student?

If you enroll in a Stanford graduate program in 2019 or earlier, it cannot be considered a Knight-Hennessy Scholars program for your current degree program.

However, you can enroll in the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program if you postpone enrollment in 2023 or later or apply for a new graduate program at Stanford in 2023 or later.

Deferring Enrollment? Apply the Year Before You Enroll

Deferral of enrollment to a graduate program is the responsibility of this department. Some programs allow the report, while others do not allow it. Regardless of the policy of the graduate program, the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program does not differ from Scholar’s offers.

At our expense, we will select 150-175 applicants to Stanford for the immersion weekend on February 7 and 8, 2023. The immersion weekend is an opportunity to learn more about Canadian immersion programs.

Application Two: Graduate Degree Program

You must always register separately for the Stanford degree program you wish to follow by the fall of 2023. This is essential!

Review the complete list of Stanford graduate programs to ensure that Stanford offers you the study program you wish to complete. (Applicants for the Honors or Master’s Program in Liberal Arts are not eligible for the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program).

The deadline to apply for a graduate program depends on the study program (see the table below for more details).
