In partnership with private donors, the JVS Scholarship Program offers scholarships to qualified Jewish students who primarily reside in the Los Angeles area with need-based financial aid, believing that education is the first step to career success.
Since its inception in 1972, JVS has awarded over 4,900 scholarships totalling over $9.2 million. Current recipients are students pursuing both undergraduate and graduate studies at community colleges, four-year colleges, universities, graduate schools, and vocational schools throughout California and across the country.

More About the Jewish Vocational Service Scholarship Program 2022
The Jewish Vocational Service (JVS) is committed to providing much-needed aid to as many qualified recipients as possible. It encourages students to reapply each year for help throughout their post-secondary education.
JVS offers need-based scholarships to Incoming freshmen, Freshmen, sophomores, Junior, Senior and Graduate students who are residents in Los Angeles.
They will distribute $694,000 to 220 students this academic year in JVS scholarship funds.
This opportunity is for Jewish students with permanent residency in Los Angeles County. The scholarship program is open to individuals enrolling full-time as undergraduate or graduate students in Los Angeles.
The Jewish Vocational Service (JVS) intends to provide individuals with the tools, resources, and support needed to earn their living through job training, mentoring, expert career coaching, job placement and retention to support people with the ability.
The JVS Scholarship application for the 2022/2023 academic year will reopen on January 1, 2022. Like other scholarships, the Jewish Vocational Service [JVS] Scholarships program can be found at specific schools and colleges, except that it is dedicated to Jewish students.

JVS is associated with many communities and metro areas in Los Angeles and offers financial help for students with education expenses.
Financial need and community preference are the main eligibility criteria for receiving the JVS scholarships to facilitate studies; nationwide and local scholarships are for Jewish students looking to fund education.
They help undergraduate, and graduate students expand their knowledge at a primary level and bring their heritage to life.
Also, JVS considers the importance of equipping individuals with the ability to deal with crucial matters pertaining to Jewish affairs by preparing educators and future leaders of the Jewish community. Need-based scholarships support Jewish students from Los Angeles County in pursuing college, graduate, and vocational education.
JVS Scholarship Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a Jewish student
- Minimum age of 16 years
- Have a permanent and legal resident of Los Angeles County – for at least three years.
- U.S. citizen or documented legal permanent U.S. resident (green card)
- Planning to attend an accredited public or private college, university or vocational school in the U.S.
- Planning to enrol full-time (minimum of 12 units per term)
- Maintain a minimum 2.7 GPA for undergraduate students and a 3.0 GPA for graduate students every semester or quarter enrolled.
- Demonstrated and verifiable financial need, including FAFSA (student aid report)
- Restricted by ethnic heritage and specific religious affiliations: Jewish

The Scholarship is designed for High School Seniors wishing to enrol in an accredited College in the USA. The Scholarship has no Discipline Restrictions.

The Scholarship is Hosted in the United States of America.

The Scholarship is intended for only citizens of the USA or documented legal permanent U.S. residents (green card).

The JVS Scholarship Winners go home with cash prizes ranging from $500 to $5,000.

The Lorain County JVS Student Memorial Scholarship was established in 2005 in memory of former JVS students who have passed away. In 2012, this scholarship was renamed the Lorain County Tribute Scholarship to be given in memory or honour of students, staff, or friends of the JVS. Numerous scholarship opportunities. William R. Burton Scholarship
The William R. Burton Scholarship was established in 1994 by the Lorain County JVS Teachers’ Association in memory of William R. Burton, the founding superintendent of the Lorain County JVS. Mr Burton devoted his efforts to establishing and maintaining high-performance standards for the JVS faculty and students. (Tramadol)
William R. Randall Scholarship
The William R. Randall Scholarship was established in 2008 by the Lorain County JVS Teachers’ Association in memory of retired Superintendent William R. Randall, with the financial support of his family, friends, Lorain County JVS staff and longtime educational associates. Mr Randall was Superintendent at the Lorain County JVS from 1999 until his retirement in 2007, culminating in a 40-year career in adult and high school career technical education.
