About Louisiana State University LSU

Louisiana State University (officially Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College, commonly known as LSU) is a public research university in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The university was founded in 1853 in what is now known as Pineville, Louisiana, under the name of the Louisiana State Seminary of Learning & Military Academy.

Stamps Scholarship:

This scholarship is open to incoming LSU students. To be eligible, applicants must be admitted to Ogden Honors College by November 15th deadline.

In addition, candidates must have at least a 2.5-grade point average score and a minimum score (33 on the ACT) on their standardized test.

Each year, only ten of these scholarships are available. Only ten of these scholarships are available each year, and this is the most prestigious scholarship offered at LSU.

It covers all LSU participation fees for up to eight semesters, regardless of whether the candidate resides in Los Angeles or an out-of-state resident.

In addition, students can earn up to $1,550 a year if they participate in a specific research program. This award also offers up to $14,000 in additional education.

Tiger Alumni Legacy Scholarship:

This scholarship is open to students living outside the state. To qualify, the applicant must have a parent who graduated from LSU. The applicant will receive a 10% discount on out-of-state tuition for up to four years if elected.

The exact amount of this scholarship varies from year to year and depends on the current cost of tuition fees for LSU. This award may be used in conjunction with other internal awards.

Flagship Scholars Award:

This scholarship is open to students who hold high standardized exam scores and at least a 3.0 high school grade point average.

Students selected for this scholarship will receive either a resident award (worth $2,500) or a non-resident award ($20,500 per year). These prices are renewable if the student continues to be eligible.

In addition, students can earn up to $1,550 extra a year by participating in a university-specific research program.

Texas Tigers Scholarship:

This grant is open to residents of the State of Texas only. To be eligible, candidates must have at least 26 in the ACT and an average score of 3.0 points.

The award gives students a reduction of up to eight semesters, which is 20% less than the current out-of-state tuition rate.

Distinguished Freshman Award:

This scholarship provides finalist students with national merit up to $2,000 annually.

In addition, students can earn $1,550 more each year if they participate in the President’s Future Leaders Research program, which is offered annually by LSU.
