(MIPS) Murdoch International Postgraduate Studentship in Australia,2017-18

Applications are currently available for the 2017 Murdoch International Postgraduate Studentship (MIPS)  that is to be held in  Australia and applications will be on submission  till 30th September. The program is been funded by  Murdoch University. Studentship awards include a living allowance of AU$25,392 per annum (2016 rate) as well as a tuition fee sponsorship and health insurance premiums. The duration of the award is for a maximum of three years for PhD and EdD studies. PhD students are also reminded that an extension can be granted to them but just for three month. International students are welcome to send in their applications and also  ensure that  the listed eligibility criteria are to be met.

Description

‣ Murdoch University offers  Murdoch International Postgraduate Studentship awards which include a living allowance and a tuition fee sponsorship.

‣ Murdoch University provides the successful applicant with a living allowance of AU$25,392 per annum (2016 rate) as well as a tuition fee sponsorship and health insurance premiums. The health insurance covers the student and their spouse and dependants (if any) for the period of the MIPS.

‣ Under the MIPS conditions travel and relocation costs are the responsibility of the applicant however Murdoch University provides the MIPS recipients with a (partial) allowance for relocation and airfares (based on receipts).

‣ Murdoch students also have access to a conference travel allowance once during the course of their degree, maintenance funding set by the Schools and a thesis production allowance.

Eligibility

The applicant must meet the eligibility criteria in order to be considered for this  Murdoch International Postgraduate Studentship.

The applicant should:

‣ qualify to undertake the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Doctor of Education (EdD) at Murdoch University in areas in which the University has specialized research strengths.

It is important that applicants include – if applicable – the following information as an attachment to their application:

  • evidence of a major thesis (of approximately 6 months duration)
  • evidence of academic research experience which may be equivalent to a major thesis
  • examiners reports of any dissertation or thesis
  • evidence of fellowship or professional memberships
  • in the case of art, design or other performance based programmes where other criteria may be inappropriate, evidence of international or national reputation by way of exhibitions, performance, or production with your role clearly explained, can be included
  • a list of any publications including work which you have done individually or jointly with others. The list should be presented with the following information: title, authorship (indicate your contribution, if it is a joint publication), type of publication (eg journal article, poster, CD-Rom, conference paper, performance, web-based publication), whether it is an academically refereed publication and details on how this item contributes to the proposed thesis

Applicants who have had sustained contact with a potential academic research supervisor at Murdoch University prior to submission of their application will be considered favourably.

Academic Referee Reports

All international applicants must provide written references from two academic referees. These may be sent together with your application form, or you may arrange for your referees to send them directly to Murdoch International. Referees should preferably be senior academics familiar with your most recent work, and in a position to comment on your future potential for research and contribution to the field of knowledge. It is your responsibility to ensure that your referees submit their references by the due date in September. Your application may be significantly disadvantaged without these reports.
