Point University
Founded in 1937, Point University is an accredited, nonprofit institution educating and equipping a diverse Christian community of cultural leaders motivated to live out their faith in the marketplace.
The University provides a broad, comprehensive curriculum designed to prepare students for their chosen professions and awards associate, bachelor’s, degrees.
Point university’s current leader is President Dean Collins. Dean C. Collins is a 1979 graduate of Point University.
He held the position of interim president at Point from early 2006 until February 2009, when he was appointed president by the University’s board of trustees.
Prior to joining the administration in 2006, Collins had served as an advisor to the University and its trustees. In previous years, he served as part of the University’s adjunct faculty and as the interim vice president of student development.

Collins and the board of trustees led the 2011 relocation and expansion of the college’s main residential campus from Atlanta to West Point in order to accommodate enrollment growth, expand the physical campus and broaden the University’s athletic offerings. I

History of Point University
Point University was founded as Atlanta Christian College in 1937 by Judge T. O. Hathcock (1879-1966), who served on the bench in Fulton County, Georgia, from 1914 until 1942.
Point University’s main campus is located in West Point, GA, while its historic campus was located in East Point, Ga., a suburb of Atlanta.
The campus was a part of a 300-acre farm inherited by Mrs. Hathcock. With a barn, livestock and cultivated fields, the campus in its earliest days had a distinctly rural flavor.
Following its founding, Point University devoted attention primarily to the education of ministers, missionaries and other church-related workers.
In 1965, the college became an accredited member of the American Association of Bible Colleges (AABC).
In 1990, in conjunction with a broadening of the curriculum, the college was accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award the associate and baccalaureate degrees.
The early childhood and middle grades education program has earned accreditation by the National Council on Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and the Professional Standards Commission (PSC) of the State of Georgia.
In February 2011, the board of trustees announced that the college’s name would change to Point University on July 1.
In fall 2012, the traditional, residential campus relocated to West Point, GA, and the growing Greater Valley area.
The University’s curriculum currently offers majors in areas of study ranging from biblical studies to biology.

Traditional undergraduate tuition for full students of Point University is $10,350 per semester or $450 per hour and $20,700 annually. Total for 2022-23: $28,750 – 30,850 (full-time, resident student).
Part-time students pay $650 per hour for every 6 – 11 hours, $250 per hour for 1 – 5 hours, and an audit fee of $70 per hour.
