The Dallas Theological Seminary is offering full-ride scholarships for students who wish to enroll in its Master of Theology program.

It is a full-tuition scholarship available for a limited number of incoming students. Eligible applicants must have demonstrated excellent scholastic achievement, committed Christian service, and ministry potential.

2. COUNSELING SCHOLARSHIPS – Dallas Theological Seminary

The Dallas Theological Seminary is offering Counseling scholarships for students who wish to enroll in its Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling program.

The $35,000 award scholarship will be spread over three years for three students in the program. Eligible applicants must have demonstrated excellent scholastic achievement, committed Christian service, and ministry potential.

3. Presidential Scholarship – Denver Seminary 

Deadline: March 1, annually.

The Presidential scholarship at Denver Seminary is available for new students enrolled in its Masters of Divinity program. It is meant to assist students with an excellent academic record, ministry experience, and personal maturity. It is one of the Seminary Scholarships for students in the USA.

The scholarship will pay up to $15,000 in tuition/fees per year and up to $10,000 in on-campus housing per year

Eligible applicants must be committed to completing their degree as a full-time residential student in 3 years (26 credit hours per year).

4. Kingdom Scholarship Application – Denver seminary

Deadline: March 1, Annually.

The Kingdom Scholars Endowed Scholarship was established to provide tuition assistance for deserving Master of Divinity students at Denver Seminary who are pursuing careers in full-time ministry (pastor, youth pastor, worship pastor, counselor, church planter, or missionary).

The scholarship award is a 50% tuition discount and is geared towards students who have just been enrolled in the program.

The eligible candidate must be a resident of the United States, aged 35 or younger at the time of application, have a 3.1 GPA from the most recent degree obtained, be committed to pursuing a career in full-time ministry upon graduation, and be willing to participate in all tacit curriculum events.

The successful recipient must also maintain a minimum of 3.25 GPA during the program.

5. Engaging Hope Scholarship Application – Denver seminary

The Engaging Hope Scholarship was established to provide scholarships for incoming international and minority students enrolled in either the Master of Divinity or a Master of Arts program at Denver Seminary. It is one of the Seminary Scholarships for students in the USA.

The scholarship award is either a 50% or 100% tuition discount for the Master’s program.

The eligible candidate must be in good academic standing and demonstrate financial need.

6. Adrienne M. and Charles Shelby Rooks Scholarship

The United Church of Christ’s Adrienne M. and Charles Shelby Rooks Scholarship offers $5,000 to racial minority students (Black, Latino/an Asian, American Indian, Alaskan Native, and Pacific Islander individuals) who are pursuing M.Div., Ph.D., Th.D., or Ed.D. degrees from an ATS-accredited theological school in the United States or Canada.

Eligible candidates must belong to the UCC Church, hold a cumulative GPA of 3.3, and be required to choose a religious teaching vocation.

7. ATLA Scholarship for Theological Librarianship

Deadline: June 1st

Two scholarships for theology and Christian studies are offered annually, including the $1,200 Scholarship for Theological Librarianship. It is one of the Seminary Scholarships for students in the USA.

Offered by the American Theological Library Association (ATLA), the ATLA Scholarship for Theological Librarianship is available for students of underrepresented religious, ethnic, or gender populations who have added theological librarianship courses to their ALA-accredited master’s program in library and information science.

The scholarship award is valued from $1,200 to $4,000 annually with an optional $750 USD travel grant to attend the following ATLA Annual Conference.

8. Diamonds in the Rough Ministry Scholarship

Deadline: April 22nd

Diamonds in the Rough Ministry, a Dallas nonprofit, has provided a $1,000 scholarship to support female graduating high school seniors in Texas who are pursuing ministerial careers with majors in theology, Christian studies, religion, or similar programs.

Successful recipients must be accepted at an accredited in-state or out-of-state college within the states, maintain an overall GPA above 2.5, submit a minister’s letter of recommendation, and submit a 500-word written essay about their God-given vocation.

9. Emma Kapp Ogburn Memorial Fund

Awarded by the Centenary United Methodist Church since 1946 in honor of the late wife of S.C. Ogburn, the Emma Kapp Ogburn Memorial Fund has been organized under the Winston-Salem Foundation (WSF) to residents of North Carolina’s Forsyth County.

The scholarship award is valued at a non-renewable $1,000.

11. Holly Elliott and Laurel Glass Scholarship

Valued at $1,500, though subject to change annually

Established in 2004 by the United Methodist Higher Education Foundation UMHEF, the Holly Elliott and Laurel Glass Scholarship is available for theology students who are culturally deaf, orally deaf, deafened, deaf-blind, or hard of hearing.

The grants are intended for seminary education for persons wishing to be prepared for specialized ministries in the church, including, but not restricted to those who wish to become ordained.

Eligible seminarians must attend an ATS-accredited Methodist theological school, submit medical verification of their disability, and pursue specialized Church ministries.

12. Ida V. Holland Missionary Scholarship

The San Antonio Area Foundation partners with the First Presbyterian Church to award the Ida V. Holland Missionary Scholarship to female college students between the ages of 18 and 24 who are majoring in theology, ministry, religion, Christian education, or related fields at Moody School or an accredited equivalent for missionary work.

The General Board of Higher Education and Ministry (GBHEM) presents the Journey toward Ordained Ministry Scholarship upon racial minority students who are enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in ministry, theology, Christian studies, Bible, or religion.

14. Kerusso Academic Scholarship Fund

Annually, the National Christian Foundation of Wisconsin (NCFWI) offers the Kerusso Academic Scholarship Fund to support individuals earning a Master of Divinity (M.Div.), Master of Theology (Th.M.), or related degree.

15. UNITED METHODIST SEMINARY SCHOLARSHIPS

Deadline: March 1

Established by the Iowa United Methodist Foundation, the United Methodist Seminary Scholarships are provided for students who are following the call to join the ministry.

The scholarship applications open December 1 annually and close on March 1 the following year.

All applications and required documents are now paperless. All required documents such as essays, references, transcripts, and any other required documents will be gathered and submitted online.

Awarded by the Iowa United Methodist Foundation (IUMF), the Lorene L. Gerdon Seminary Scholarship for theology and Christian studies is available for applicants from the following countries: Appanoose, Davis, Mahaska, Marion, Monroe, or Wapello, who are members of the Methodist church.

The scholarship award is valued at $7,500.

Desired applicants are expected to be bachelor’s degree holders, enrolled in or planning to enroll in a graduate or professional level degree study. Applicants must also demonstrate financial need (a FAFSA/IRS Tax return is required).

17. Louisville Institute Doctoral Fellowships

From the Lilly Endowment, the Louisville Institute funds 10 Doctoral Fellowships annually for $4,000 apiece to outstanding Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) or Th.D. (Doctor of Theology) students who are entering their first or second year at an accredited theological school in the United States or Canada.

The fellowship is valued at an amount of $2,000 per year, for two years.

Acceptable academic disciplines including but are not limited to; theology, Biblical studies, ministry, religion, and Christian ethics. Eligible candidates are expected to submit the following documents: a 1,500-word essay, transcript, curriculum vitae, doctoral mentor’s recommendation, and dissertation proposal.
