
University of Newcastle is glad to announce its Undergraduate Scholarships at University of Newcastle in Australia, 2019.
The applications is for merit and excellence scholarships to pursue undergraduate degree program in Music. The university offers up to $4,000 scholarships for Australian students.
In the 1990s a group known as the Friends of the Conservatorium set up a fund for the purpose of supporting the pursuit of studies in music. Their intent was to assist aspiring music students with study costs.
This group ran a series of fundraising events including a cycle race. Unfortunately their identities are not known today but we honour their vision and passion for music. This fund is now named the Creative Conservatorium Fund.

The scholarships described below are specifically for students disadvantaged by distance to assist with the relocation costs of a move to Newcastle to study music.

HOST NATIONALITY:
The scholarship is to be taken in Australia to study at the university of Newcastle. If you are an international student and you wish to study in Australia , this is for you Latest Australian Permanent Residency Visa & Citizenship Requirements
ELIGIBLE NATIONALITY:

Undergraduate Scholarships at University of Newcastle Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must meet the following criteria:
- Be commencing in the first year of a Bachelor of Music with University of Newcastle.
- Be enrolled full-time (minimum 30 units).
- Be relocating to Newcastle from a regional or remote area in Australia.
- Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Not have previously completed an Australian undergraduate degree program.

The mode of applying this scholarship is online.
Selection is a competitive process and will be based on assessment of the scholarship application against the eligibility criteria. Consideration may be given to the student’s postcode of home address in the year prior to admission to B Music and academic merit, namely Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR).
The panel may also consider the online audition video uploaded to http://www.newcastle.edu.au/degrees/bachelor-of-music/admissions on application for entry to the Bachelor of Music program at UON.
Postcode will be assessed using the Australian Standard Geographic Classification Remoteness Areas (ASGC RA). All categories other than RA1 Major Cities of Australia are considered to be regional or remote as per postcode search available online at www.doctorconnect.gov.au/locator.
