Scholarship Benefits

Salary: Grade 7 (£32,548 – £38,833 p.a., Appointments will be made at spinal point 30 (£32,548 p.a.), plus a £13,000 grant as additional funding for outreach).

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must meet the following requirements:

  • As an EPSRC Doctoral Prize Fellow, you must have A Ph.D.,  have sat their viva, or submit your thesis for examination between 1 October and 30 September 2023.
  • Been in receipt of EPSRC funding during your Ph.D., or tied to an EPSRC research grant by having received partial fees and maintenance payments from the grant (working on a piece of equipment funded by an EPSRC grant is not acceptable);
  • Experience working in a research laboratory/research environment at a postgraduate level;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with experience in reporting on research progress, such as presenting research results at meetings/conferences or publishing your research in an international peer-reviewed journal, as appropriate;
  • Good time management and planning skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and work effectively under pressure;
  • An ability to manage competing demands effectively, responsibly, and without close support;
  • proven ability to work well both individually and as part of a team;
  • A strong commitment to your continuous professional development.
  • Excellent communication skill, both written and oral, is necessary.
