Watson-Brown Foundation Scholarships for Undergraduates in the US, 2022 [UPDATED]

May 30, 2022 by

Watson-Brown Foundation Scholarships for Undergraduates in US

Do you know that as an undergraduate you can earn up to $5000 at the Watson-Brown Foundation Scholarship for undergraduates in the US to finance your studies? Read through for details and apply.

The primary mission of the Watson-Brown Foundation is to provide need and merit-based scholarships to selected Georgia and South Carolina students attending accredited four-year colleges and universities in the United States.

About Watson-Brown Foundation Scholarship

The founder, Walter J. Brown, believed college education provides the best avenue towards success and fulfilment.

So in 1970, he established a private Foundation to support his belief. The Watson-Brown Foundation scholarships are awarded to students from communities in and near the Savannah River valley which is where Brown was raised and spent most his adult life.

This internal scholarship program is entirely managed by the staff of the foundation while scholarship awards are decided by the board of trustees during its regular second quarter meeting.

It awards scholarships based on academic merit and financial need to help students with the costs of tuition, books, and room and board. Scholarship checks will be mailed directly from the foundation to the financial aid office of the recipient’s college of choice.

Utmost priority will be given to students living in particular counties of Georgia and South Carolina. Although standardized test scores do not solely reflect academic merit, the scholarship committee does not SAT and/or ACT scores when testing applications.

The scholarship committee considers all aspects of the student’s application, the Foundation will combine a student’s highest sub-scores from each test. Please make sure it includes all of your test scores in your application materials.

There is a short renewal application however, the application is often used to update students’ information. Previous recipients must submit transcripts to the foundation at the end of each semester to verify that he/she has maintained a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and taken 12 or more credit hours.
