Ari Emanuel was born and raised in suburban Wilmette, Chicago, Illinois in the United States. He was raised by his Jewish parents alongside two brothers and an adopted sister called Shoshana. His two brothers are Rahm Emanuel and Ezekiel Emanuel who are both prominent personalities in the United States. Rahm was once the mayor of Chicago, while Ezekiel is a popular bioethicist.

Ari’s father Dr. Benjamin Emanuel was a famous pediatrician. He was best known for his activities in the Irgun, an uncompromising Zionist militant group. The activities of the Irgun in the 30s and 40s in Mandatory Palestine led to the labeling of the group as a terrorist unit by the British authorities.

Ari’s mother Marsh Emanuel was popular in her duty as a civil rights activist.  She is also the owner of a rock-n-roll club in the Chicago area. While growing up, Ari was diagnosed to be dyslexic and hyperactive (ADHD) in his 3rd grade in school. Therefore, his mother spent many hours teaching him how to read. Ari attended New Trier High School and later, Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota. Ari took a major step and moved to LA in 1987, which marked the beginning of his career in the entertainment industry. In LA, he started his career as an agent trainee with the Creative Artist Agency (CAA).

Before the founding of Endeavor Talent Agency, Ari was one of the partners at Inter Talent. He also occupied the position of a senior agent at Partners. In 1995, together with other staff members of ICM television agent began to nurse the plan to start a private agency. The plan was uncovered by Jeff Berg, the chairman of ICM at the time. Berg fired Ari and the other 3 staff members involved. On the 30th of March same year, the four founded Endeavor Talent Agency.

In 2015, Ari bought a home in Los Angeles worth $9.8 million. The home remains his private apartment to date, however, it is not his primary home. Later in the year, he spent another $16.55 million to acquire a property in the Brentwood neighborhood of the same Los Angeles.

In 2018, he quietly purchased his neighbor’s property for $11.5 million with the anticipation of creating a stupendous 1.25-acre compound. Conversely, he abandoned the project and proceeded to sell the first Brentwood compound for the sum of $19.4 million. It was a fair deal until he sold the second property for $6.5 million, incurring a loss of around $4 million.

In 2020 (October), Ari purchased another property in Beverly, California for $27.5 million from Edward Slatkin.  The property was originally listed for $36million by the seller.
