Edward Furlong Net Worth

Edward Furlong has seen some steam in his time but has since cooled off since he stopped featuring in roles that are would help him ride the waves. He currently has a net worth of $100 thousand.

It’s not the first (and certainly not the last) occasion Hollywood has determined that a certain actor is going to be huge and has done everything in its power to make that happen, but it hasn’t.

It is entirely possible that Edward Furlong could have ended with a larger fortune if he had just tried more or the audience warmed up to him more.

Introduction

It’s strange and unfair that in a place such as Hollywood where we’re constantly told that every waiter is an aspiring actor waiting for his big break, some waiters never get a chance while others receive multiple chances, even if audiences don’t warm up to them the first time around.

But it also demonstrates how odd an echo-box Tinseltown can be—all Studio X needs is for Studio Y to love This Guy for their next great star, and Studio X then has to hire him, and so on.

Then, a few years later, This Guy has six films coming out and is on every magazine cover, and audiences, unless they quickly fall in love with him, are irritated that they’re being pushed an unknown quantity so strongly.

Edward Furlong was on top of the world in 1991. After making a tremendous splash in James Cameron’s Terminator 2: Judgement Day as John Connor opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton, he was everywhere for a few years, appearing opposite Jeff Bridges in American Heart, directing Pet Sematary II, and even recording an album (for real).

His career cooled after a promising transition into main roles as an older teen/young adult with John Waters’ Pecker, the Kiss film Detroit Rock City, and American History X, and he became more well-known for his personal difficulties than for his acting.

His largest performance in recent years was lending his voice to Terminator: Dark Fate, but that was overshadowed by resurrected allegations from the past, as well as the film’s lackluster box office reception.

Early life

Edward Furlong was born in Glendale, California, the son of a youth-center worker named Eleanor Torres (née Tafoya). Furlong’s mother is of Mexican heritage, and he has identified himself as “half-Russian.”

Nancy Tafoya, his mother’s sister, and Sean Furlong, his half-brother, had custody of him for several years, from 1990–to 91 when he began his acting career. Furlong’s managers at the time were the two.

Edward Furlong and his old tutor, Jacqueline Domac, had a romance when he was approximately 15 and she was around 28. It continued for several years.

When California’s statutory rape legislation was altered in 1994 to allow adult women who have sex with juveniles to be prosecuted, Sean Furlong, Furlong’s guardian, filed a complaint against Domac, but was unsuccessful in having her charged. Domac filed a lawsuit against Furlong for assault in May 1999.

Career

Furlong made his film debut in 1991, as John Connor in Terminator 2: Judgment Day, for which he won an MTV Movie Award for Best Breakthrough Role and a Saturn Award for Best Young Actor. While touring the Pasadena Boys and Girls Club, casting director Mali Finn identified him for the position.

He went on to star alongside Meryl Streep and Liam Neeson in Before and After, Tim Roth, Maximilian Schell, and Vanessa Redgrave in Little Odessa, and Anthony Edwards in Pet Sematary Two, in a succession of modestly successful high-profile features and indies.

Furlong appeared in Aerosmith’s “Livin’ on the Edge” music video in 1993. The only big Aerosmith video from Get a Grip that didn’t contain Alicia Silverstone was this one.

In the 1994 film Brainscan, he played Michael Brower, a horror and videogame-obsessed teen. In 1995, he starred in The Grass Harp, a film adaptation of Truman Capote’s novel.

In Mortician 3D, he co-starred with Method Man. In the psychological thriller Crave, which was shot in Detroit, Michigan, he plays Ravi.

Family

He became legally emancipated from his single mother at age 16. Nancy Tafoya, his mother’s sister, and Sean Furlong, his half-brother, had custody of him for several years, including 1990–91 when he began his acting career.

He was married to Rachael Bella from 2006 until 2009 and he has a son named Ethan. In June 2009, she filed for divorce, revealing that their son had tested positive for drugs and had been physically hostile to her.

After he punched her in the face in September of that year, she applied for a restraining order, and he was later charged with breaking the restraining order and sentenced to three years of probation.

Luxury life

Not luxury but throughout his career, Furlong has struggled with alcoholism and drug addiction. In October of 2000, he entered treatment for the first time. He stated that he was “Between the ages of 22 and 26, he was “on and off” hard narcotics, admitting that he was a “heroin and cocaine addict.” It was quite frightening.” in addition “I’m not even thinking about (partying). Running, clubbing, and doping coke appears to be lonely now. Doing heavy drugs gives me nightmares. ‘Did I relapse?’ I’ll wonder when I wake up.”
