Lewinsky signed an affidavit denying the affair, but she later accepted immunity ‌for full disclosure and appeared before a grand jury in July 1998. 

The House of Representatives adopted two articles of impeachment, perjury and obstruction of justice, based on Starr’s inquiry findings; Clinton was acquitted of the charges by the Senate in 1999.
