It is best known as a free credit and financial management platform. Still, its features include free tax preparation, monitoring of unclaimed property databases, and a tool to identify and dispute credit report errors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Credit Karma is best known for its free credit scores and credit reports. However, it positions itself more broadly as a website that offers its users “the chance to build a better financial future.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All of Credit Karma\u2019s services are free to consumers. Revenue from targeted advertisements for financial products offsets the costs of its free products and services. Credit Karma earns revenue from lenders, who pay the company when Credit Karma successfully recommends customers to the lenders. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company operates in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Credit Karma is a multinational company founded in 2007 by Kenneth Lin, Ryan Marciano, and Nichole Mustard. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, Lin is the chief executive officer, Marciano is the chief technology officer, and Mustard is the chief revenue officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In December 2020, Intuit, the company behind TurboTax, closed the acquisition of Credit Karma in a deal valued at $8.1 billion, including cash and stock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
