About Peggy and Jack Baskin Foundation

The Peggy and Jack Baskin Foundation were founded in 2007. Her mission of the Peggy and Jack Baskin Foundation is to create and support strategies for eliminating obstacles facing marginalized populations, in order to reach gender and racial equity.

A woman is efficiently self-sufficient when she has the power to satisfy most of her basic needs with no assistance, casual or formal, private, or public. The Peggy and Jack Baskin Foundation admits that girls, and particularly women of color, face specific financial hurdles to achieving equality within our society.

All these impediments include things like income inequality, the elevated expense of raising children, taking care of older relatives, none or unpaid pregnancy leave, and too little use of cheap daycare.

According to the California Women’s Well-Being Index, Monterey County ranks number 49 out of California’s 58 counties in Women’s Economic Security, due to high costs of housing, low high school graduation rates, and high costs of childcare.

Because of this, the Foundation tries to finance businesses that help make certain women can gain access to education, employment, and incomes which may enable them to live healthier and joyful lives over the poverty line.
