What is the World Economic Forum about?

The World Economic Forum, based in Cologny-Geneva, Switzerland, is an NGO, founded in 1971, with a membership of 1,000 multinational corporations, on whose behalf it lobbies, primarily for deregulation.

However, the Forum engages the foremost political, business, and other leaders of society to shape global, regional, and industry agendas. Note, its 1,000 member companies, typically global enterprises with over five billion dollars in turnover (varying by industry and region) fund it.

The WEF hosts an annual meeting at the end of January in Davos, a mountain resort in Graubünden, in the eastern Alps region of Switzerland.

Eligibility for WEF Global Leadership Fellowship

To apply for this world economic forum program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • The applicants must have up to 4-8 years of work experience. Between four and eight years of full-time work experience
  • Must have a Master’s degree in any discipline from any institution that has been accredited.
  • A high level of intellectual curiosity and humility
  • Good communication and writing skills
