World Trade Organization Young Professionals Program 2021-2022

This WTO Young Professionals Program offers selected young professionals the opportunity to gain work experience in the WTO. There is no guarantee that the program or job offer will be renewed under the one-year program.

The Young Professionals Program of the WTO (YPP) is a unique opportunity for qualified young professionals under the age of 32 (from 1 January 2021) eligible. WTO members developing and least developed countries) Improve their knowledge and expertise in international trade and the WTO.

The WTO Young Professionals Program aims to broaden the pool of professionals in these countries, who could subsequently become more competitive in terms of recruitment within the WTO and/or other regional and international organizations.

The WTO YPP 2022is offered by The WORLD TRADE ORGANIZATION.

World Trade Organization Professionals Program Worth

Participants under the program receive a monthly salary of CHF 3,500. The WTO also provides appropriate medical cover and travel costs.

Eligibility for WTO YPP 2022

  • Applicants must be 32 years old or younger, as of 1 January 2022.
  • Advanced university degree in law economics, or other international trade-related subjects relevant to WTO work
  • General knowledge of the work of the WTO
  • Ability to think strategically; work independently and in a team
  • Demonstrated strong interest in international trade.
  • Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience
  • Fluency in English.
  • Good working knowledge of one other official WTO language, French or Spanish, would be an advantage.
  • A cover letter (letter of motivation) MUST accompany the application – the letter should also note UP TO THREE areas of work that applicants would be interested in, in order of preference.
    Applications with no accompanying letter will not be considered.

How to Apply for WTO Young Professionals Program 2022

All candidates must complete an online application form on the website.

The instructions for adding the cover letter are as follows:

  • Once you have applied for the Young Professionals program, it will be displayed in the “My Applications” tab.
  • Applicants should click on the “Add” button for the vacancy under the heading “Letter of Motivation”.
  • Cover letters are added in other sections of the applicant’s profile, such as “Additional Information” or “Additional Documents”.

Only applications from nationals of WTO members are accepted. The WTO can use a variety of communication technologies, such as video or teleconferencing, to evaluate candidates.

The recruitment process may also include the use of various test forms, assessment centers, interviews, and reference exams. Further information:
