The foundation aims to provide the need and merit-based scholarships to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usnews.com\/best-colleges\/middle-tennessee-state-university-3510\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"broken_link\"><strong>Middle Tennessee students<\/strong><\/a> of all ages. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the Scarlett Family Foundation Scholarship program, the foundation hopes every student receives high-quality education to reach their potential and become self-sufficient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the years, the foundation has awarded scholarships to more than 500 students, amounting to $9.6m. The students awarded scholarships span 134 <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/kiiky.com\/category\/high-school-scholarship\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">high schools<\/a><\/strong> in 36 counties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The scholarship amount can be applied to tuition, fees, books, supplies, and equipment required for the course load. Checks will be mailed directly to the scholar and made payable to the institution. It is the recipient\u2019s responsibility to notify ISTS of any address changes. Check STEM degrees here: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/scarlettfamily.wpengine.com\/students\/eligible-majors-for-scholarship\/\">https:\/\/scarlettfamily.wpengine.com\/students\/eligible-majors-for-scholarship\/<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have a minimum GPA of 2.5.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enroll full-time next fall.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"6-how-to-apply-for-scarlett-family-foundation-scholarship-2021-\"><span id=\"how-to-apply-for-scarlett-family-foundation-scholarship-2023\"><strong>How to Apply for Scarlett Family Foundation Scholarship 2023<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To apply for the I-2 Scholarship, students will complete an online application through ISTS and will be asked to provide:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>A statement explaining how this interim course or internship will add value to your current major<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A course\/program description and proof of cost<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"7-scholarship-renewal-\"><span id=\"scholarship-renewal\"><strong>Scholarship Renewal<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Students may renew their awards for up to four years or until the recipient completes an undergraduate degree, whichever comes first. Students do not need to reapply yearly; those eligible to renew their scholarship will be notified via email from\u00a0ISTS\u00a0on March 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students will have until April 30 to complete the renewal application. The renewal of the scholarship will depend on the committee\u2019s annual review of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Positive academic performance as evidenced by the student\u2019s transcript.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recipient\u2019s full-time status.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Continued demonstration of financial need.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cost of the college or university where the student is enrolled.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Scarlett Family Foundation<\/strong> will consider granting an additional semester on a case-by-case basis in extreme circumstances. Students should email\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:tomparrish@scarlettfoundation.org\">Tom Parrish<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>of the Scarlett Family Foundation with a letter as to why they need more time and provide a copy of their most recent transcript at least 90 days before the start of the semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"8-award-forfeiture-\"><span id=\"award-forfeiture\"><strong>Award Forfeiture<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A scholar could forfeit his\/her awarded scholarship if the student:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Changes to a non-business or non-STEM approved major.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Transfers to a 2-year or for-profit institution.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>He\/she is no longer enrolled as a full-time student.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is placed on academic or behavioral probation by the university. The student loses the scholarship for one year, after which the committee will review it for reinstatement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fails to complete the renewal process by the deadline.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the scholarship committee may review exceptions on a case-by-case basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"9-scarlett-family-foundation-scholarship-application-deadline-\"><span id=\"scarlett-family-foundation-scholarship-application-deadline\"><strong>Scarlett Family Foundation Scholarship&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>Application Deadline<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The application for the 2023 Scarlett Family Foundation Scholarship runs between September 15 and December 15 every year.\u00a0 However, an open scholarship is administered by the foundation, which is available to current Scarlett Scholars. This is the I-2 Scholarship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"10-scarlett-family-foundation-scholarship-application-link-\"><span id=\"scarlett-family-foundation-scholarship-application-link\"><strong>Scarlett Family Foundation Scholarship&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>Application Link<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.scarlettfoundation.org\/students\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Website and Application link<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"11-additional-information-\"><span id=\"additional-information\"><strong>Additional Information<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>A student may transfer from one institution to another and retain the award; however, the amount awarded is subject to change based on the tuition cost of the new university.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The Scarlett Family Foundation Scholarships<\/strong> are not taxable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"12-the-i-2-scholarship-\"><span id=\"the-i-2-scholarship\"><strong>The I-2 Scholarship<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This scholarship is available to current Scarlett scholars and administered by the Scarlett Family Foundation. The award supplements students\u2019 current award by covering costs associated with internships, interim coursework, and special programs.\u00a0The link to apply will be emailed to eligible students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The maximum value of the scholarship is $5,000, and the approved programs include internships that are on site for the full fall, spring, or summer term; interim terms such as May masters and short January courses between fall and spring semesters; and special programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Special programs might involve an individual or group project that is part of a class, such as a competition that involves registration fees, materials, and travel. Semester study abroad programs will be considered and must show a very significant benefit to your degree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To be eligible, students must be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>A current Scarlett Family Foundation Scholar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enrolled in a 4-year college or university and seeking a bachelor\u2019s degree.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In good academic standing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"13-scholarship-requirements-\"><span id=\"scholarship-requirements\"><strong>Scholarship Requirements<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Internships, interim coursework, and special programs must be approved and sponsored by your current college or university.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recipients must submit a one-page document to\u00a0Tom Parrish via email 30 days after the I-2 award program is completed on the subject: How did your experience enhance your degree?
