In order to improve healthcare, St. George’s University is pleased to announce the availability of the St. George’s University International Medical dean’s Indian Scholarships, eligible persons are welcome to apply.

St. George’s University seeks intelligent, dedicated, passionate students who will succeed in their professional objectives and become successful practitioners adding value to their communities and to global health as a whole

St. George’s University is a private international university in Grenada, West Indies, offering degrees in medicine, veterinary medicine, public health, the health sciences, nursing, arts and sciences, and business.

To provide context, the admission rate at St. George’s Medical School in Grenada, West Indies, is 41%. This contrasts markedly with the admit rates at the most selective medical schools in the U.S., such as Harvard, with admit rate of 3.7%, Johns Hopkins of 3.9%, and Stanford, at 4.7%.

Caribbean students are typically saddled with higher debt than medical students in the United States, in part because tuition is generally higher. Tuition and fees at St. George’s come to $246,400 for four years, compared with $190,500 at Albert Einstein, the highly selective school Ms. Vidulich had hoped to attend.

The high costs of private medical education is a concern for many students. St. George’s University’s School of Medicine is approved for its students to participate in the US Direct Loan Program and, in addition, the School of Medicine offers a variety of scholarships to help defray the costs of medical education.

In fact, approximately 80% of the students in the School of Medicine use financial aid to pay for part or all of their medical school costs. If paying for medical school has you concerned, please explore this page for financial aid options, including US federal student aid, scholarships for academic excellence, and need-based scholarships generally for international students.

The Legacy of Excellence was established more than ten years ago to award to students with high academic achievement. There are two components of this scholarship.

The CCLOE is an automatic award of $80,000 to students with a minimum overall undergraduate GPA of 3.7, a 3.5 science GPA, and a 29 (old)/506 MCAT score who have been accepted by the Committee on Admission. This scholarship is awarded to the first 50 qualified students in each class to accept it and is distributed over four years.

The University withholds the right to award this scholarship under certain unusual conditions. An award of up to $60,000 granted to students demonstrating academic excellence in their undergraduate education, the Legacy of Excellence Scholarship is a partial-tuition scholarship awarded to entering students who demonstrate the commitment and dedication necessary to achieve academic excellence in a rigorous medical curriculum based on their academic history.

Students are identified during the admission application process and notified of their award through the Admissions Office upon acceptance into the University.
