Herman. A. DeVry founded DeVry University as the DeForest Training School, after he previously invented a motion picture projector, and produced educational and training films. He named the school after his friend, Lee de Forest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the death of Herman. A. DeVry, the school was renamed DeVry Technical Institute in 1953.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Years later, the school was acquired by Cogswell Education LLC. Cogswell has its headquarters in Greenwich, Connecticut, and the major investor is Bradley Palmer of Palm Ventures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, DeVry University has grown to be a home to over 17,000 students both graduate and undergraduate, operating in about 90 campuses and learning sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
