{"id":157673,"date":"2022-10-31T15:40:00","date_gmt":"2022-10-31T15:40:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kiiky.com\/?p=157673"},"modified":"2023-11-19T12:33:13","modified_gmt":"2023-11-19T12:33:13","slug":"world-bank-graduate-scholarship-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kiiky.com\/world-bank-graduate-scholarship-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Fully Funded Joint Japan\/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program for Developing Countries Nationals"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Scholarship opportunities have greatly improved the lives of many people around the world, especially people that naturally would not have afforded a decent education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s in this spirit that (<strong>The Joint Japan\/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program<\/strong>)\u00a0JJ\/WBGSP 2022 is instituted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The opportunity is open to citizens of certain&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.worldbank.org\/en\/programs\/scholarships\/brief\/countries-eligible-for-jjwbgsp-scholarship\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>developing co<\/strong><\/a>untries&nbsp;with relevant professional experience and a history of supporting their countries\u2019 development efforts. These people must be applying to a master&#8217;s degree program in a development-related topic. &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Subject to available funding, Joint Japan\/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program for Developing Countries Nationals(JJ\/WBGSP 2022) offers scholarships for 48 Participating Programs\u00a0at universities in the United States. And some in Europe, Africa, Oceania, and Japan in key areas of development, including economic policy management, tax policy, and infrastructure management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u00a0Please note that if you are not admitted to one of these 48 programs, you are not eligible to apply for a JJ\/WBGSP 2022 Scholarship<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"475-fully-funded-uk-scholarships-2022-updated\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/kiiky.com\/category\/scholarships-by-countries\/u-k-scholarships\/page\/2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">475 Fully Funded UK scholarships 2022 [UPDATED]<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-eligibility-requirements\"><span id=\"eligibility-requirements\"><strong>Eligibility Requirements<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Developing Country nationals must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Be a national of a World Bank member developing country on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldbank.org\/en\/programs\/scholarships\/brief\/countries-eligible-for-jjwbgsp-scholarship\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">this list<\/a>;\u00a0<\/li><li>Not hold dual citizenship of any developed country;<\/li><li>Be in good health;<\/li><li>Hold a Bachelor\u2019s (or equivalent) degree earned at least 3 years prior to the Application Deadline date;<\/li><li>Have 3 years or more of recent development-related work experience after earning a Bachelor\u2019s (or equivalent) degree;<\/li><li>Be employed in development-related work in a paid full-time position at the time of submitting the scholarship application. Have at least 3 years of paid development-related employment since earning a Bachelor\u2019s degree (or equivalent university degree) and acquired within the past 6 years from the date of the Application Deadline. <\/li><li>Please see FAQs on how to count qualified part-time employment toward this 3-year requirement. Please see Annex 2 of the Application Guidelines for a suggested list of development-related topics. <\/li><li>The only exception to this criterion is for developing country nationals from a country that is on the list of Fragile and the Conflict States featured in Annex 3 of the Application Guidelines. In these exceptional cases, we do take into consideration the limited employment opportunities in those countries listed in Annex 3.<\/li><li>On or before the Scholarship Application Deadline date, be admitted unconditionally (except for funding) for the upcoming academic year to at least one of the\u00a0JJ\/WBGSP 2022 participating master\u2019s programs\u00a0located outside of the applicant\u2019s country of citizenship and country of residence listed at the time the call for scholarship applications opens.\u00a0The letter of admission must be uploaded before submitting your application. For details, see \u201cHow to Apply\u201d.<\/li><li>Not be an Executive Director, his\/her alternate, and\/or staff of any type of appointment of the World Bank Group or a close relative of the aforementioned by blood or adoption with the term \u201cclose relative\u201d defined as Mother, Father, Sister, Half-sister, Brother, Half-brother, Son, Daughter, Aunt, Uncle, Niece, or Nephew.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note: All eligibility criteria are strictly adhered to. No exceptions are made. Eligibility criteria WILL NOT change during an open call for applications. However, this information is subject to change between the close of one application process and the opening of the next.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-scholarship-benefits\"><span id=\"scholarship-benefits\"><strong>Scholarship Benefits<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The JJ\/WBGSP scholarship provides the recipient with the following benefits:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Economy class air travel between your home country and the host university at the start of your study program and immediately following the end of the scholarship period. In addition to the two-way air travel, scholars will receive a US $500 travel allowance for each trip;<\/li><li>Tuition for your graduate program and the cost of basic medical insurance obtained through the university.<\/li><li>While on campus during the scholarship period, a monthly subsistence allowance to cover all living expenses (accommodations, food, etc., including books). <\/li><li>The amount of the allowance varies depending on the host country.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note all JJ\/WBGSP scholarships cover the duration of the graduate program or two years, whichever is less.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The JJ\/WBGSP scholarship does not cover:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>VISA application(s) costs<\/li><li>Expenses to bring and\/or support a scholar\u2019s family members;<\/li><li>Extra-curricular courses or training;<\/li><li>Courses that do not meet the minimum credits required to earn the graduate degree;<\/li><li>Language training not provided by the graduate program;<\/li><li>Additional travel during the course of the study program;<\/li><li>Expenses related to research, supplementary educational materials, field trips, participation in workshops\/seminars, or internships; or<\/li><li>Educational equipment such as computers.<\/li><li>Resident permit fee<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Note: The JJ\/WBGSP scholarship may only supplement, and does not duplicate, any other source of financial support\/fellowship you might have.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are notified to be a semi-finalist or if you are awarded a scholarship, you must inform and document to the JJ\/WBGSP at that time if you have other sources of scholarship funds.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/kiiky.com\/20-commonwealth-scholarships-2017-2018\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Read This: Full Commonwealth Scholarships 2022 | Apply Now<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-selection-process\"><span id=\"selection-process\"><strong>Selection Process<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The JJ\/WBGSP uses the following process to review eligible scholarship applications from developing country nationals, with the aim of identifying the candidates with the highest potential, after completion of their graduate studies, to impact the development of their countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two qualified assessors independently review each eligible application and score the application on a scale of 1 to 10, taking into account four main factors and the degree of cohesion among them:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Quality of Professional Experience (30% weight)<\/li><li>Quality of Professional Recommendations (30% weight)<\/li><li>The quality of Commitment to your Home Country (30% weight)<\/li><li>Quality of Education Background (10% weight)<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The JJ\/WBGSP Secretariat uses the average score of the two assessors and the following criteria to select the finalists:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Maintaining a reasonably wide geographical distribution of awards<\/li><li>Maintaining a reasonable distribution of awards across gender<\/li><li>Unusual circumstances\/hardships, when assessing the employment experience and other aspects of an application;<\/li><li>Giving scholarships to those applicants who, other things being equal, have limited access to financial resources for graduate studies abroad.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/kiiky.com\/category\/scholarships-by-suject\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Read Also: List Of Scholarships by Subject 2022 | undergraduates <\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-method-of-application\"><span id=\"method-of-application\"><strong>Method of Application<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants can apply for scholarships to one of the Participating Programs. :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SCHOLARSHIP TO ATTEND A PARTICIPATING PROGRAM:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ATTENTION:\u00a0\u00a0The call for applications for a JJ\/WBGSP 2022 Scholarship will open on March 22, 2022, and the deadline for applying will be May 21, 2022.\u00a0<\/strong>Guidance for the 2022 call for applications, including the call\u2019s: (i) instructions and requirements to submit an application, the eligibility criteria applicants must meet;
