Do you have what it takes to see your articles on the large publishing platforms in the world? <a href=\"http:\/\/kiiky.com\/tag\/commonwealth-scholarships\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Commonwealth<\/a> Youth Council is inviting Applications for the Commonwealth Youth Council Poetry Competition for Applicants of Commonwealth Country.<\/p>\n<p>The theme of the competition is <a href=\"http:\/\/kiiky.com\/category\/competition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>\u201cMy disability does not define me.\u201d<\/strong><\/a>To commemorate World Braille Day, the Commonwealth Youth Council launches \u201cUnseen &amp; Unspoken.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This is a segment of creative expression of the <strong>#<\/strong>iamABLE campaign through the art of poetry. The theme of the competition is \u201cMy disability does not define me.\u201d The theme can be interpreted in many ways \u2013 writers could focus on achievements and talents they have in spite of a disability, or positive traits they have or have developed as a result of their disability.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-yoast-seo-table-of-contents yoast-table-of-contents\">\n<h2 id=\"table-of-contents\">Table of contents<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#h-brief-description\" data-level=\"2\">Brief Description<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#h-level-field-of-study\" data-level=\"2\">Level\/Field of study:<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#h-host-nationality\" data-level=\"2\">Host Nationality:<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#h-eligible-nationality\" data-level=\"2\">Eligible Nationality:<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#h-eligibility\" data-level=\"2\">Eligibility:<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#h-categories\" data-level=\"2\">Categories<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#h-application-procedure\" data-level=\"2\">Application Procedure:<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#h-application-deadline\" data-level=\"2\">Application Deadline:<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#h-author-s-recommendations\" data-level=\"2\">Author&#8217;s Recommendations<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-brief-description\"><span id=\"brief-description\"><strong>Brief Description<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The objective of the Commonwealth Youth Council competition is to raise awareness of the experience and lives of young people with disabilities which are often unseen and not spoken of Note that the CYC is taking a broad definition of disabilities to include visible and invisible disabilities such as autism and dyslexia.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-level-field-of-study\"><span id=\"level-field-of-study\"><strong>Level\/Field of study:<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The scholarships are available for pursuing the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/kiiky.com\/tag\/international-competitions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Competition<\/a>&nbsp;in Poetry.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-host-nationality\"><span id=\"host-nationality\"><strong>Host Nationality:<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The scholarship is hosted in the UK.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-eligible-nationality\"><span id=\"eligible-nationality\"><strong>Eligible Nationality:<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The scholarship is open to&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/kiiky.com\/tag\/international-scholarships\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">International and all commonwealth member <\/a>countries.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-eligibility\"><span id=\"eligibility\"><strong>Eligibility:<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Aged 15 \u2013 29 years old<\/li>\n<li>National of Commonwealth country<\/li>\n<li>Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply.<\/li>\n<li>One poem per person<\/li>\n<li>Team submissions are permissible but restricted to teams of 3.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-categories\"><span id=\"categories\"><strong>Categories<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>15 \u2013 17 years old<\/li>\n<li>18+ years old<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-application-procedure\"><span id=\"application-procedure\"><strong>Application Procedure:<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-guidelines\"><span id=\"guidelines\"><strong>Guidelines<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>The poem must include a title and must not exceed 30 lines in length (not including the title)<\/li>\n<li>Poems cannot exceed\/cannot be longer than 400 words<\/li>\n<li>Entries must be based on the theme<\/li>\n<li>Poems must be the original work of the applicant.<\/li>\n<li>Entries must not have been published, published on a website, or featured as a winner in another competition before the 31<sup>st<\/sup> of May.<\/li>\n<li>Entries must be written in English<\/li>\n<li>Handwritten entries will not be accepted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-guidelines-for-submission\"><span id=\"guidelines-for-submission\"><strong>Guidelines for submission<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>For the hearing-impaired: Submissions can be made in written form or sign language that is video recorded. If the submission is by video recording in sign language, then it must be accompanied by an interpreter (who does not count as a team member) doing a voice-over. Alternatively, the video must have subtitles.
