It opened its doors in 1904 on the Bloemfontein Campus with a mere six students in the Humanities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since then, UFS has grown to more than 31 000 students and spread across seven faculties over three campuses. In addition to the founding campus, the university has a South Campus in Bloemfontein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This smaller campus provides alternative access to higher education for promising students who have not obtained the required marks in their final school examinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UFS vibrant Qwaqwa Campus in the Eastern Free State serves a rapidly-growing number of rural students from the immediate area and surrounding provinces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The changes taking place at the university continue to capture the imagination of people everywhere, including the international media, and the growing base of international universities, Inspiring excellence and transforming lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These objectives are the driving forces at the heart of the UFS. Through its Human and Academic Projects, UFS is a university internationally recognized for human reconciliation, compassion, and excellence in academic achievement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"1-what-you-need-to-know-\"><span id=\"what-you-need-to-know-about-national-student-financial-aid-scheme\"><strong>What You Need To Know<\/strong> About National Student Financial Aid Scheme<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The South African Government set up the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) to provide students with financial assistance to cover the cost for registration and tuition and to provide them with allowances for books, food, transport, and accommodation. This student financial aid scheme is accessible in UFS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"2-level-field-of-study-\"><span id=\"level-field-of-study\"><strong>Level \/ Field of Study:<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The USF National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is available to students who wish to pursue an undergraduate degree\/diploma or postgraduate degree program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The list of courses eligible for this scholarship include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>BTech \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/kiiky.com\/category\/scholarships-by-suject\/architecture-scholarships\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Architecture\/Architectural<\/strong><\/a> Technology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>BTech \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/kiiky.com\/category\/scholarships-by-suject\/engineering-schoalrships\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Engineering<\/strong><\/a> (all disciplines), Cartography, Forestry<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>BTech \u2013 Biokinetics, Biomedical Technology, <a href=\"https:\/\/kiiky.com\/category\/scholarships-by-suject\/biotechnology-scholarships\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Biotechnology<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>BTech \u2013 Chiropractic, Homoeopathy, all <a href=\"https:\/\/kiiky.com\/category\/scholarships-by-suject\/nursing-scholarship\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Nursing<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>BTech \u2013 Clinical or Dental Technology, Emergency Medical Care<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Postgraduate Certificate in Education<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Postgraduate Diploma in <a href=\"https:\/\/kiiky.com\/category\/scholarships-by-suject\/accounting-scholarships\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Accounting<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>LLB<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"3-host-nationality-\"><span id=\"host-nationality\"><strong>Host Nationality:<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The scholarship is to be taken in <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/kiiky.com\/category\/scholarships-by-countries\/scholarships-for-south-africans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">South Africa<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"4-eligible-nationality-\"><span id=\"eligible-nationality\"><strong>Eligible Nationality:<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Only South African citizens are eligible to apply for this scholarship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"5-scholarship-worth-\"><span id=\"scholarship-worth\"><strong>Scholarship Worth:<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The NSFAS provides financial assistance to cover the cost of registration and tuition and provide them with allowances for books, food, transport, and accommodation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"6-eligibility-\"><span id=\"eligibility\"><strong>Eligibility:<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Applicants for NSFAS must meet the following criteria:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Be a South African citizen with a household income of R350 000 or less, who is registered at UFS, and have not been approved for the NSFAS funding in 2023<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be a South African citizen with a household income of R350 000 or less who is registered at UFS but have not applied for the NSFAS funding before<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be a South African citizen with a household income of R350 000 or less and plans to study at a public university or TVET College in 2023 and require funding.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"7-how-to-apply-\"><span id=\"how-to-apply-for-national-student-financial-aid-scheme\"><strong>How To Apply<\/strong> For National Student Financial Aid Scheme<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Before applying for the NSFAS, make sure that you have certified and valid copies of the following documents before attempting to apply for funding:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Your South African identity document\/card (or an unabridged birth certificate (if you are younger than 16 years old)<br>\u2022 ID of parents and\/or guardian (or death certificate where applicable)<br>\u2022 Pay advice\/letter of employment\/pension advice stating income (SASSA slips are not required, and SASSA should not be included as household income)<br>\u2022\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/uatmy.nsfas.org.za\/mynsfastraining\/static\/downloads\/NSFAS2018Applications_consent%20form.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" class=\"broken_link\">A completed and signed consent\u00a0<\/a>form must be filled in with your parent\u2019s\/guardian\u2019s signatures. Applications without a consent form signed by all people whose incomes have been declared in the application will not be accepted and will be considered incomplete<br>\u2022 If you have a disability,
