For this reason, we have brought to you the easiest information to help you apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Basically, Topoi combines Berlin\u2019s strengths in ancient studies research as it is supported by the Freie Universit\u00e4t Berlin and the Humboldt-Universit\u00e4t zu Berlin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Excellence Cluster is the product of cooperation with the four major institutions in Berlin involved in research into antiquity: the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities, the German Archaeological Institute, the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science and the Stiftung Preu\u00dfischer Kulturbesitz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Candidates are expected to have sufficient command of the relevant&nbsp;ancient languages&nbsp;for their dissertation project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since the language of instruction is predominantly&nbsp;English, their <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/kiiky.com\/category\/scholarships-by-suject\/english-scholarships\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">English<\/a><\/strong> should be good enough to join discussions and write papers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"0-what-you-need-to-know-about-the-daad-doctoral-scholarship-\"><span id=\"what-you-need-to-know-about-the-daad-doctoral-scholarship\"><strong>What You Need to Know About The DAAD Doctoral Scholarship  <\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"1-eligibility-\"><span id=\"eligibility\"><strong>Eligibility:<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The applicants must meet the following criteria to qualify for the scholarship:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The call is open only to applicants<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Who are not German citizens<\/li><li>Who have not lived in Germany continuously for longer than 12 months as of the application deadline<\/li><li>Their last final exam (<strong><a aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/kiiky.com\/category\/masters-scholarships\/\" target=\"_blank\">Master Degree<\/a><\/strong>) should have taken place no longer than six years ago<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"2-course-level-\"><span id=\"course-level\"><strong>Course Level:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Scholarships are available to pursue a Doctoral program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"3-study-subject-\"><span id=\"study-subject\"><strong>Study Subject:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Scholarships are awarded in the \u201cAncient Philosophy and History of Ancient <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/kiiky.com\/category\/scholarships-by-suject\/science-scholarships\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Science<\/a><\/strong>\u201d and \u201cLanguages and Cultures of the Silk Road\u201d programs at the Berlin Graduate School of Ancient Studies (BerGSAS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"4-host-nationality-\"><span id=\"host-nationality\"><strong>Host Nationality<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The DAAD Doctoral Scholarship will be taken in <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/kiiky.com\/category\/scholarships-by-countries\/germany-scholarships\/\">Germany<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"5-eligible-nationality-\"><span id=\"eligible-nationality\"><strong>Eligible Nationality:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The DAAD Doctoral Scholarships are available only to Non-German citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"6-scholarship-award-\"><span id=\"scholarship-award\"><strong>Scholarship Award:<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In accordance with DAAD guidelines, doctoral scholarship holders receive a basic monthly stipend of 1.000 Euros, a travel allowance, a combined health, accident and liability insurance policy, allowances for study and research and, where applicable, rent and family allowances, as well as financial support for a pre-sessional language <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/kiiky.com\/category\/scholarships-by-suject\/\">course<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"7-number-of-scholarships-\"><span id=\"number-of-scholarships\"><strong>Number of Scholarships:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Up to two doctoral scholarships are available. One Scholarship for Doctoral Studies in the \u201cLanguages and Cultures of the Silk Road\u201d Program and One Scholarship for Doctoral Studies in the \u201cAncient Philosophy and History of Ancient Science\u201c Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"8-further-qualifications-\"><span id=\"further-qualifications\"><strong>Further Qualifications<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Dissertation proposals:&nbsp;<\/strong>For the&nbsp;Ancient Philosophy&nbsp;pathway of the program we particularly welcome dissertation proposals, which involve&nbsp;both&nbsp;philosophy and one or more special sciences (including mathematics, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/kiiky.com\/category\/scholarships-by-suject\/medicine\/\">medicine<\/a><\/strong>, and other disciplines that we might not today consider special sciences, such as grammar or divination). For the&nbsp;History of Ancient Science&nbsp;pathway of the program we also (but not exclusively) welcome dissertation proposals that consider philological, social and cultural aspects of the ancient sciences, both in the Greco-Roman and in the ancient Near Eastern, Early-Christian and Islamic world.<\/li><li><strong>Language skills:&nbsp;<\/strong>Candidates are expected to have sufficient command of the relevant&nbsp;ancient languages&nbsp;for their dissertation project. Since the language of instruction is predominantly&nbsp;English, their English should be good enough to join discussions and write papers.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"9-college-admission-requirement-\"><span id=\"college-admission-requirement\"><strong>College Admission Requirement<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Entrance Requirements: Candidates must hold an outstanding Master\u2019s degree, or equivalent degree, in one of the aforementioned subjects or be very close to completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>English Language Requirements: Candidates are expected to have sufficient command of the relevant&nbsp;ancient languages&nbsp;for their dissertation project.
