Law School Transfer Acceptance Rate Yale

In Yale Law School transfer of students are also accepted. These Transfer students are enrolled in the first year of law school. That means transfer applications are only accepted if the student is in his or her first year or second year.

Basically, one of the major requirements you must submit if you are applying as a transfer student is a bachelor’s degree and distinguished history in an accredited law school.

Secondly, as a Transfer applicant, you must have obtained a grade of B or higher (or equivalent) in all coursework in order to apply. In addition, applicants registered in law schools that have been approved by the American Bar Association will only consider applications.

What is the student Life like at Yale Law School?

The Yale Law school provides a conducive learning environment for students. And also the learning schedule and time for other social activities are quite impressive.

First, students are limited to 20 hours per week of work in a law school in a semester. The work can include working as a research assistant for a member of the law faculty, or in other university jobs that require the approval of the law school, how to serve a fellow teacher at Yale College.

J.D students in the first semester are prohibited from working in law school or other university jobs that require the approval of law school.

Just like every other school has requirements stipulated for any applicant who wants to apply must meet, Yale Law School also has Admission Requirements stipulated for all students who want to apply for admission.

First, All new J.D., J.S.D., LL.M., and M.S.L. students are required to register in person at the Law School on August 19. Then, Ph.D. students are required to register with the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences on the Graduate School’s schedule.

Secondly, all returning students are required to register in person at the Law School on August 26. And J.D. students may not register for their penultimate term unless they have completed one of the two writing requirements

Yale Law School Application Process

Basically, before you apply for Yale Law School, you’ll first have to sign up for the Law School Credential Assembly Service (CAS), which you can access online via the Law School Admission Council (LSAC). You’ll then submit your entire application online through LSAC.

Below are the documents that must be attached in your application:

  • Letters of recommendation, at least two from two professors
  • GRE scores (note: while LSAC will automatically report your LSAT scores to Yale, to submit GRE scores, you’ll need to designate Yale as a score recipient through the testing organization, ETS)

    • Mandatory: law school personal statement (no length guidelines given)
    • Mandatory: a 250-word essay on “an idea or issue from your academic, extracurricular, or professional work that is of particular interest to you”
    • Optional: various addenda, such as a diversity statement or an explanation of unusual items that appear elsewhere in your application

While some law schools require dean’s certificate forms as part of their application, Yale only requires them if and when you receive an admission offer and decide to accept.
