Application for #YouAreWelcomeHere International Scholarships 2022 is ongoing!
In 2016, Temple pioneered a nationwide welcome message from U.S. higher education to international students around the world. Through the #YouAreWelcomeHere scholarship, Temple recognizes international students who demonstrate a vision for enhancing intercultural understanding. Temple University will provide an award amount of $20,000 to the successful candidates.
About Temple University
Temple University (Temple or TU) is a state-related public research university in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was founded in 1884 by the Baptist minister Russell Conwell. On May 12, 1888, it was renamed the Temple College of Philadelphia. By 1907, the institution revised its institutional status and was incorporated as a research university.
As of 2019, about 40,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students were enrolled at the university. Temple is among the world’s largest providers of professional education (law, medicine, podiatry, pharmacy, dentistry, engineering, and architecture), preparing the largest body of professional practitioners in Pennsylvania.
Temple University is classified among “R1: Doctoral Universities – Very high research activity”, and has more than 500-degree programs at 15 schools and colleges and five professional schools.
YouAreWelcomeHere International Scholarships- Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for this opportunity, you need to have the following credentials:
- Be a first-year international applicant. An international applicant is an individual who holds citizenship in a country outside the United States and who does not also possess U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.
- Attend (or have graduated from) a secondary school outside of the U.S.
- Demonstrate interest and personal initiative in activities involving intercultural learning and exchange.

There is no formal application for this scholarship. All the candidates will automatically be selected for this award after successfully being registered on an eligible study program by the deadline.
