About Headstream Accelerator

Headstream, powered by SecondMuse, is a national innovation program focused on creating a just and thriving digital economy that supports the well-being of young people as they grow up.

For many youth, especially marginalized young people and queer youth, the systems intended to help them transition to adulthood do not currently meet their needs.

Education, health, and social sectors are often inadvertently contributing to a well-being crisis among Gen-Z. Digital spaces can provoke and amplify the most negative components of these systems.

Digital spaces can also create an inclusive economy that serves the fundamental needs of young people now and the rapidly evolving needs of a generation more interconnected, informed, and enabled than any other before.

Headstream exists as a bridge between those with a lot of systemic power and those with less. Over the last three years, the program has focused on influencing and reshaping the social tech, ed-tech, and digital health sectors to serve the needs of young people.

Who Should Apply

Who Should ApplyEntrepreneurs, startup founders, and innovators building enriching, empowering, supportive, and meaningful digital technologies for young people?

Applicable innovations include social tech, ed-tech, and digital health innovations. Your solution should be market-based and not solely dependent on donations or grants.

Are You Eligible?

Eligible Innovations must be past the ideation stage and, at a minimum, have a functional prototype. Solutions that are market-ready or established will benefit the most from the Accelerator. We are particularly interested in innovations targeting teenagers, but solutions for slightly younger or older markets are eligible.

The Opportunity

Receive a $40,000 non-dilutive stipend to support participation in a five-month virtual Accelerator program, including youth and professional advisory boards, a customized curriculum, use of Headstream’s impact measurement tool, and access to a global network of 100+ funders and investors.
