There are a few ways to find lives on Instagram. One way is to go to the explore page and look for the live stories icon. Another way is to search for a specific account and look for the live story icon next to their name.

When someone you follow shares a live broadcast, their profile picture will appear at the top of Feed with a colorful ring around it and the word Live. Tap or click their profile picture to view their live broadcast. You can watch live broadcasts on the Instagram app or on Instagram.com.

Live broadcasts you share on Instagram are automatically saved in your Live Archive, so there’s no need to save them to your phone. You can turn off Live Archive at any time in Settings. Tap your profile picture in the bottom right to go to your profile. Tap in the top right, then tap Settings.
Tap next to the username at the top. Tap Request to join, then tap Send Request. If your request is accepted, you’ll receive a notice that you’re about to join the live room. Note that you may automatically be asked if you want to request to join the live room in the comments section.
IGTV is no longer a thing, with Instagram rolling it into a new video format simply called Instagram Video.
