About the Prize:

JESH is a funding program of the OAW, which offers young scientists from all target countries listed below the opportunity to initiate or intensify international contacts and cooperation.

Projects funded under JESH must strengthen the research landscape in the recipient’s country of origin. Joint research activities aim to increase the chances of obtaining third-party funding from international financial institutions such as the ERC, to give just one example.

Successful YESH projects help build lasting relationships between Austrian scientists and destination countries and develop international research collaborations in their respective research areas.

Eligibility for JESH programme 2023

In order to be eligible for the JESH programme 2023, Applicants must:

  • Have completed their doctorate and Ph.D. programs not less than 10 years ago and are affiliated with a university or non-university research institute in one of the targeted countries.
  • If a candidate accepts his / her candidacy, this affiliation must be retained upon receipt of the JESH funding.
  • Only one application can be submitted per person.
