UD Physical Therapy Department – University of Delaware

The Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Delaware, a public research University in Newark, Delaware, United States of America, is offering qualifying DPT students the option to earn a Master of Science (MS) in Anatomy and Clinical Health Science and a Ph.D. in Physical Therapy.

The Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at the University of Delaware is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) while Middle States Commission accredits the MS Degree program on Higher Education.

The average cumulative undergraduate GPA of students who seek to enroll for the program is 3.71 and the Average GRE scores of such candidates are the 76th percentile for Verbal and 69th percentile for Quantitative.

Department of Physical Therapy – University of Pittsburgh

The Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Pittsburgh is one of the US’s most prestigious physical therapy programs.

The department offers a post-professional master’s degree for qualifying physical therapy candidates to improve their clinical knowledge and skills through a specific advanced practice and scholarship program.

All applicants must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 (out of 4.0) or its equivalent from their entry-level professional physical therapy program.

The Charlotte Money Beatty Memorial Scholarship is granted in honor of a beloved physical therapist who served until her passing Twenty-Five years ago.

The $1,500 annual scholarship is offered to a qualifying graduate student enrolled in the University of North Carolina physical therapy program.

While the scholarship is open to all students in good academic standing, priority will be given first to minority students and second to individuals expressing a commitment to a career in pediatrics.

Dr. Alvin and Monica Saake Foundation Scholarship

Dr. Alvin and Monica Saake Foundation Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship granted annually to undergraduate or graduate students currently enrolled full-time in an accredited degree program in kinesiology, leisure science, physical education, athletic training, exercise science, sports medicine, physical therapy, or occupational therapy.

The Harold “Herk” Cooper Memorial Scholarship Fund is granted to a non-traditional full-time graduate student enrolled in the accredited physical therapy program at the University of Indianapolis.

The $2,500 scholarship is granted annually in honor of an orthopedic tech who served in the United States Navy before pursuing a graduate degree in physical therapy.

The criteria for selecting qualified candidates include academic performance, financial need, professional goals, and service involvement.

Katherine H. Dilley Scholarship Fund

The Katherine H. Dilley Scholarship Fund is offered to current undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a physical or occupational therapy career at any accredited four-year higher learning institution in Arizona.

The $1,000 scholarship which is offered annually is sponsored by the Arizona State Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).

Eligible candidates must present the following documents during the application: a college transcript, two letters of recommendation, and a personal essay on career interests.

National AMBUCS Scholarship Program for Therapists

National AMBUCS, Inc. offers scholarships to qualified undergraduate and graduate (master’s or doctoral) therapy students in physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, and audiology.

Since its inception in 1955, more than $8.3 million in scholarships have been awarded to nearly 15,000 students. Over $150,000 is awarded annually, with individual awards ranging from $500 to $1,500, including a two-year $6,000 prize.

The Ruth A. Kradolfer Physical Therapy Humanitarian Award is granted to a deserving first or second-year graduate student in the accredited physical therapy program at the School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science, University of Montana.

Southpaw Enterprises Inc. Scholarship Program

Southpaw Enterprises Inc. is one of the leading manufacturers of products used by physical therapists worldwide.

The Southpaw Enterprises Inc. national scholarship program is offered to qualified graduate students who are majoring in physical therapy in a CAPTE-accredited program in any Ohio institution. The scholarship award is up to $3,000 granted annually to deserving students.

THE ASSOCIATION OF SCHOOLS OF ALLIED HEALTH PROFESSIONS (ASAHP) Scholarship program

The Association of Schools of Allied Health Professions is offering scholarships to allied health students enrolled in its member schools.

The scholarship program is done in partnership with CastleBranch. It is awarded to outstanding students in the allied health professions who are achieving excellence in their academic programs and have significant potential to assume future leadership roles in the allied health professions.

The scholarship which started in 2014, awards up to $1,000 and the title of Elwood Scholar annually to deserving students.

SANDRA TEAGUE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

The Sandra Teague Memorial Scholarship was established by members of the PT class of ’98, as well as physical therapy faculty and staff members at DMU – Des Moines University, in memory of Sandra Teague (PT Class of ’98).

Sandra was killed in the tragic plane crash that targeted the Pentagon on September 11, 2001.

INDIAN HEALTH SERVICE SCHOLARSHIP (IHS)

The Indian Health Service scholarship program offers financial assistance for American Indian and Alaskan Native (federally recognized only) students enrolled in health professions and allied health professions programs such as in the fields of medicine, nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, etc. in institutions around the United States.

Requirements to qualify for this program include several service obligations and pay-back requirements that the recipient incurs upon acceptance of the scholarship funding.

The Department of Physical Therapy at Northwestern University, Illinois, United States offers the Janet L. Hemzacek Memorial Scholarship for $2,500 annually to incoming and current Physical Therapy Graduate students.

The Mary McMillan Scholarship Award is offered annually to well-deserving students in the last year of their graduate program in an entry-level professional physical therapy program that has been accredited by the CAPTE.

The scholarships award up to $5,000 annually to students who can demonstrate extraordinary scholastic performance, evidence of potential contribution to the physical therapy profession, and service to the APTA.

An award of $5,000 will be granted to each physical therapist professional education student recipient and $3,000 to each physical therapist assistant education student recipient.
