MGCCC Academic Merit Scholarships

This is one of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College scholarships.

Description

This particular scholarship is aimed at providing academic and residential scholarships for full-time students who are about entering college for the first time and have qualifying ACT scores.

Eligibility

Eligibility requirements to receive an Academic Scholarship include:

  • Applicant must be a legal resident of Mississippi and Meet all admission requirements
  • Applicant must register for at least 15 credit hours per semester, i.e. he /she must be available for classes.

Scholarship Worth

MGCCC scholarships worth varies.

Some winners of this award receive $1,750per semester. While others receive $1,200 per semester.

Another set of winners would be seen to win up to $750 funding per semester, while other winners receive a little about $250 fund per semester.

What applicants need to know about MGCCC scholarship 2023

For a student to retain this Academic Excellence Scholarship, the student must maintain the required grade point average or higher.

You don’t have to go below what you used to have, in terms of CGPA. A Student that drops below the required cumulative GPA requirement and couldn’t continue with the 15 semester hour completion requirement, will be placed on scholarship probation for one probationary semester.

This is a mercy period, which would be aimed to allow the student to regain the required cumulative GPA, and also go back to the 15 semester hour completion requirement.

If after this probation period, the student does not meet the probationary requirements, he or she will no longer be eligible to receive the scholarship. And the student would be stripped of the scholarship.

The appropriate Academic Scholarship will be automatically awarded to the student’s account after he/she has met all criteria listed below and register for 15 credit hours.

The hours are taken as a dual-enrolled, where dual-credit high school student does not affect scholarship eligibility.

The scholarships under this segment are made available through gifts from individuals, corporations, and organizations.

Students merit any of these awards based on merit and need.

The donor would still have the final say on the winner based on the eligibility criteria established by the donor.

The recipient must attend the Jefferson Davis Campus.

Recipients must write the MGCCC Foundation Thank You Letter and agree to be featured in video and photos for the following year’s gala.

Mary Agnes Gautier Scholarship

The recipient must be a Nursing student, high academic achievement, based on need.

GPATommy and Zelma Gollott Scholarship

The recipient must be a graduate of MS National Guard

Youth Challenge program at Camp Shelby, Biloxi resident first, then Harrison County

Grace Family Memorial Scholarship

$500 per year. to tech student @ Perkinston Campus for 2nd yr. must have 3.0 GPA

Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell J. Gruich Sr. Memorial Scholarship

The recipient must be a resident of Harrison County pursuing a bricklayer vocation.

Patricia Tuley Scholarship

The recipient must be a pianist and music major in any field except the band must be a high school graduate, full-time student maintaining a 2.75 GPA attending the Perkinston Campus.
