Every Spring, the George and Mary Josephine Hamman Foundation offers seventy (70) scholarships to Houston area high school seniors for their undergraduate study. The George and Mary Josephine Hamman Foundation Scholarships are open to student citizens of the United States.
The worth is $20,000, and they will pay it over a four-year period if the beneficiary meets the conditions set out in the award. The beneficiary may choose a major at a four-year college or university in the United States.
About the George and Mary Josephine Hamman Foundation Scholarship
Under the direction of Mary Josephine Hamman, the Foundation came into existence on May 20, 1954.
The aim of the Foundation is to help students obtain higher education through scholarships; promote the arts; finance qualified institutions for the advancement and development of scientific projects; attend churches, associations and church conventions to promote religion.
As well as to help colleges and universities meet their operational and capital needs; provide assistance to those in need; and to help hospitals, medical schools and research institutes in the study, treatment, and cure of diseases.
The Foundation has awarded $95.4 million in grants and scholarships during its 63 years of community service.

Scholarship applications can be submitted during the student’s last year of high school. Students can complete the scholarship forms online (see link below) after September 15 of their last year.

All applications for the George and Mary Josephine Hamman Foundation Scholarships should be submitted on or before February 16, annually.
If this date falls on a weekend, they should receive an application no later than 4:00 PM on the preceding Friday of the student’s senior year.
