The program is open to high school seniors and 4-year college students who are enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States.

The Golden Financial Services scholarship program is designed to make college more affordable for students. Wisconsin Hope Lab recently conducted the largest national college survey that illustrated over 36% of students were food insecure (not enough money to eat). Without scholarships in place, some of these students won’t graduate.

The Golden Financial Services Annual Scholarship Program is available for High school and college-level students to study in any field.

Host Nationality:

The scholarship is to be taken in the United States

Eligible Nationality:

The scholarship is open to US citizens who wish to pursue higher education.

Scholarship Worth:

Golden Financial Services will award two scholarships of $1,000 each to the winning candidates.

Eligibility and Criteria

  • High school seniors with a GPA of 3.2 or greater (requirement, the school must be in the United States)
  • College students already enrolled in an accredited 4-year university or college (requirement, the college must be in the United States)

How To Apply 

  • Write an essay that is at least 750 words that provides a unique solution to the following problem:
    • In the United States, there is $15+ billion in delinquent credit card debt (people who are more than 90-days behind on credit card payments) — besides restricting the act of lending, what are viable options for solving this problem?
      • Your proposed solution can be in the form of an online infographic video, or inside of an essay (if an essay, must be at least 750 words)
      • Please Include; a Cover Letter illustrating your full name, college or high school, college year, graduating year and intended major. In your cover letter, explain how you plan to use the scholarship and why we should select your application
  • Submit your complete application packet to [email protected]

Requirements for Submitting Your Scholarship Package

  • Your proposed solution can be in the form of an online video, infographic or essay.
  • Essays must be at least 750 words.
  • Essays must be sent in Microsoft Word Format.
  • The content MUST be unique content that’s never been published anywhere else on the internet.
  • Include an author bio and author picture. Your author bio will be published online (similar to how Wes’s author bio appears here) and connected to your essay. The top articles will be published in the Golden Financial Services blog – giving each applicant national exposure – so submit your best work!
  • Include a Cover Letter illustrating your full name, college or high school, college year, graduating year, and intended major. In your cover letter, explain how you plan to use the scholarship and why we should select you as the winner.
  • The winner of the scholarship must provide a picture id and proof that you are attending college.

These deadlines occur annually. (After the deadline, there is a 30-day voting period)
