Pronouns are important because they correspond with a person’s gender. If someone is mis-gendered, it can cause distress because they may feel their gender identity isn’t valid or respected. Using someone’s correct name and pronouns is a way of showing respect and courtesy.

1. Open the chat.
2. Click on the name of the chat (be it a person or group).
3. You will see a list menu with toggles, media, and the participants.
4. Click on theme.

Tap your profile picture on the bottom right to go to your profile. Tap in the top right. Tap Settings, then tap Theme. Tap Dark or Light.

Under Chat Settings, you’ll see Theme. Tap this and scroll through a selection of colors and combinations to immediately change the way your messages look. The default theme that you’ve already been using is a mix of purples and blues that you can always return to.
